I wanted to share some photos of my Paloma Planca Style #4115 with you.  I added the sequined belt to bring a little bit of bling to it.  I am sorry I could not decide what pictures to post so I kinda went a little nuts and posted a bunch.  Please bare with me...I am a giddy bride!  LOL  xoxo

  2. We are doing our AHR in a traditional Chinese style to honor our Chinese part of me and my FI's background. Unfortunatley, that means at a minimum, there will be 120 people in attendance. (I wanted to do a party of 8 people at the very beginning - and it was a classic example of how a Chinese dad can take over a wedding)

But that being said, the good thing about a Chinese banquet is that the my dad's old school friends who I've never seen more than a handful of times will always come covering at least their share of the meal. So hopefully that will lower costs for us.

We are doing the full invitations for the AHR, buying flowers again and having a reception at a Chinese banquet hall just 7 short days after we return from our DW. Wish us luck!

  3. Hi. The coordinators email all goes to the generic [email protected] Don't be surprised if you get a few different corresponders switching you off. Your won't really get a designated coordinator until 3 months before your wedding :)

Hi. We just booked our wedding for March 2014 and trying to get a hold of the wedding coordinator. Does anyone have a email or contact information? Thanks, Richoo
  4. Actually the boys' mom found these ones at a much better price! They're from a store in Ontario too But the sorry has pink stripes so she's gonna get them white shI rts from gap instead. Hippie this helps! http://www.adorable-kids.com/Vest_Dress_Shirt_Pants_Tie_Red_Deer_p/103-gy.htm

Ouch!! I guess I will eventually have to chose from this one or the other vendor. When will you be placing your order?
  5. Ok - So I actually have a few options for foot wear.

For the ceremony - I will be walking to the wedding location, and it's quite a trek, plus I had to get real - my ceremony is on the beach and walking in stilettos is a recipe for disaster for me. That said, I love the way heels give me a better posture and makes me look longer and taller. So I got these for walking to the wedding site and to walk down the aisle in:

When we are taking photos on the beach around the water, etc. I made a pair of barefoot sandals that have blue swarovski crystals in them as my something blue. I don't have a photo of it at the moment, I'll posit in my planning thread later :)

For the reception, my mother bought me a blush colored gown to party in, so I will be rocking these babies

Plus - the second pair will look so beautiful in photos and I can definitely wear them again after the wedding. (yes, this is me justifying the spend on the shoes...)

Ok! That's what I thought too. I was foolishly planning where to seat him in the reception, but I wouldn't be expected to! lol Thanks again!

  7.

Congratulations! I am also going to get married at the Grand Sirenis this coming August! It's really coming up quick!! There's a really helpful thread called Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

There are several wedding packages you can choose from. We want to have the works so we chose the Presidential Package - and that gives you a private location to have your wedding. I'm going to have the ceremony on the beach and then reception at the Palapa. They give you chairs with covers and blue sashes (to change the color sash I think you have to upgrade), but with the Presidential Package we get the Tiffany Chairs (which I love).

But if you aren't going with the pres. package, I think the restaurant on the Mayan Beach side by the pool (i can't recall the name, I'm sorry) has the nicest open floor plan and colors (black and white I think).

Also, the dance floor price I got quoted was going to be around $500 CAD. I'm still undecided whether that will be worth it. It's a pretty hefty price tag!

    Hope this helps!

    1) What restaurant is the best for weddings

    2) Do they decorate the restaurants? Chair covers?

    3) Has anyone gotten the bridal bouquet that comes with the Gold Package?

    4) What is the best location to have the wedding on the beach?

    5) Has anyone rented the dance floor? Seems expensive but we have a 4 hour reception so we want to dance!

    Thank you!!!

  8. We are considering hiring a videographer to have a keepsake of the wedding. He's gonna cost us a pretty price! His package will be around $1400 plus $300 resort fee and I'll most likely have to buy him fiber at the reception too bc I want him to capture the speeches. I've asked a few people attending if they'd film the wedding but no one is comfortable enough to handle that task. Plus it wouldn't be fair I'd like my guests to relax and enjoy the wedding. If you have hired a photographer or videographer, who did you seat them with? Did they have their own smaller table off to the side? Suggestions?

  9. Anyone else have a bridesman? does he wear something different than the groomsmen? does he go to their stag? what's the usual etiquette?
My MOH is actually my best guy friend. He has the same outfit add the gm but I think the GMs will wear white colored boutinieres and my moh will wear a colored one
  10. I don't think you should feel bad. I did the same for my girls. I'll be paying for their hair and makeup as well. As much as is an honor to stand in for someone at their wedding, I feel it's much more of an honor that your friends love you so much to be part of your wedding and accompany you on a day that only means something to u and your FI. I def agree with showing them all the appreciation you can if you're able to. Plus they plan the stag and bridal shower for you that they dish out money for as well. It works both ways

this thread is making me feel bad.. i paid for my 6 bridesmaid's dresses which were over 300!  on top of that, got them a gift, plus paying for their makeup on the wedding day.. I figured they were spending so much to come, I should make it as easy as possible for them.  I'm going to be broke after this wedding!
  11. I have myself a budget for around $250ish per girl. Especially cause they're paying and taking time off to come to our wedding. However I found Syper cute dresses from f21 that they'd all wear again for $30. So I put the rest towards their deposits for the trip and bought them cute presents too. I kinda spoiled them. I made them each a pair of beaded Barefoot sandals, a beautiful statement necklace, a John Hardy bracelet, getting ready robes and a mini makeup bag. I'm thinking of making a personalised hanger for them too. Haha

Hi! I'm just wondering how many of you are paying for your bridesmaid's dresses and how many have bridesmaids who are footing the bill? Also - how much do the dresses cost, and how much of a say did your bridesmaids have in your choice? My answers: Dress costs $175, it was chosen by one of my bridesmaids (who tried on 5 that we chose together, and was REALLY excited about this one) Bridesmaids are paying for the dress, I am paying for alterations I'm just wondering if I'm doing the wrong thing here.. should I be paying for the dresses? I know there is probably another thread on here, but I couldn't find one with a poll like this and I would really like to know what people think! Thanks ladies!! :)
  12. Oh that's awesome! Thanks for the links I'll Def check it out! Your picks are so fun! Love 'em !

There is a place with all kinds of discussion like this under Wedding Entertainment and Music. Try this thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/42149/anyone-have-their-entire-playlist Or this one: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/985/post-your-must-have-wedding-songs There are lots of good ideas! That is my month's to-do as well. So far: Prelude: TWO of the following: Til There Was You (Beatles) God Only Knows (Beach Boys) Somebody's Getting Married (Muppets) I Wanna Grow Old With You (Adam Sandler) Groom, Best Man, Parents, Maid of Honour: Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World (Israel Kamikowe) Bride's Procession: Kiss the Girl (instrumental version on acoustic guitar, performed by my brother) Recessional: We Go Together (from Grease) First Dance: Hey Soul Sister (Train) Parent Dance: The Rainbow Connection (Kermit the Frog! Not sure if that is the version we will use or not) We have songs also chosen for our AHR, where we will do the garter removal and toss (either Cherry Pie or Let's Get It On), bouquet toss (I think Girls Just Wanna Have Fun), cake cutting (Pour Some Sugar on Me or Sugar Sugar), and a reception entrance (either Marry You by Bruno Mars or What I Like About You by the Romantiks). We will also have a slide show (I Say a Little Prayer, from My Best Friend's Wedding, and So This is Love, from Cinderella), video (songs yet to be decided - so far For Those About To Rock (AC/DC) for the boys, Unforgettable for romantic pictures, and Can't Help Falling in Love, by Elvis. We need to pick a few more) So hopefully that helps. We are also doing all the music for the dancing on the beach; my future father in law is taking care of that though. So yeah. There are my picks. I definitely recommend checking out the music section though - there is lots there!
  13. Hey JustNoelle. We're thinking of getting these for our 2 little ringbearers (3 and 4 yrs old). They're a bit pricier but so cute.

  14. I thought about this very long and hard. We were about to do something like this: (Sorry for the pixelated images - I just took snapshots from my monitor)

And on the back have our processional/bridal party/music program. But I hate to say that I never ever keep programs when I attend a wedding, and they just get tossed after the short half hour. Instead, I've found a beautiful baroque frame that I'm gonna use to frame a chalkboard and then write it in with some fancy lettering. That way it will be on display at the ceremony space and guests can have a look at it before the ceremony begins, and we can have our program in a frame as wall art for afterwards. I just spray painted a blackboard and I will post pictures of the framed chalkboards in my planning thread once I get a chance! :)
