I did mine and it worked fine. I have no boobs, so it looked a bit deflated sad.gif, but I tied the bottom ones lower on my back than i normally would and the top ones straight back and it looked fine. I bunched the fabric on purpose so there were no gaps between my skin and the fabric, so it had this eliptical shape to it. Also, mine came with two rows of straps on each side (total of 4 ties), so I took one row out on each side, not sure if i just had a freak top or what, the picture only has one set of straps.

OMG This is hillarious. My FI totally does this (I know-TMI). I guess if you see this and think its cute, you're really meant to be.

OMG, i almost fell out of my chair laughing as I was reading this. I totally got this mental image of a bunch of kids trying to smoke my palm fans. It might actually work. We have a bunch of young families in our neighborhood, if it doesn't look like a diaper or make baby noises, they don't care.

How cool, I think I'm going to go home and boil some eggs just so I can test this spinning thing. This is super helpful, I just boil my eggs until my patience runs out, so they're always underdone.

I'm totally OCD about getting things done, I'm driving my FI and my parents totally crazy. I have to keep doing things otherwise I'll go insane, I don't think I've gotten any work done in the last few months.

I feel your pain, I am having a huge issue with my shipment from Oriental Trading, its been three weeks. Its not really their fault, they shipped on time, its just stuck somewhere in Nevada. I honestly think my mail lady hates me, she keeps delivering my packages to the wrong houses and my super nice neighbors have to drop them off. girl_werewolf.gif
  6. I'm excited because I spent three days last fall planting bulbs and my tulips and daffodils are finally blooming. I have a ton of giant pink tulips. My FSIL came over last weekend and told me I have an Easter House. Yay for flowers.

I bought a strapless top and I have no bust either. I thought it would look terrible, but its not that bad, I dont look like a skinny little boy, which is what I thought I would look like. At least there will be no lines.

I chose the Moon Palace for all of the above, plus

    19. We've been to MP three times in the past, each time bringing new friends and everyone always loved it
    20. Free trips, everyone is so excited about Chichen Itza
    21. My FI got a bad ear infection last year and the hotel doctor spoke perfect English and was just great
    22. Definitely the horse driven carriage

Sorry it took a while to respond, I totally missed this thread. There is a gallery link on the Palace Resorts site that shows some of their cakes. There's only one with shells on it, but it looks like they can do pretty much anything at the hotel. I'm doing the superior package and I get a free large cake, but my contract says is a single level and anything bigger is extra, so I'm going to ask my WC about cake costs (if I ever get one assigned, grrrr)

MoonPalacePookie - did you just set it up at the hotel that day or did you plan ahead? Do you know if we could contact someone at Moon Palace and get information on it ahead of time - to at least make sure they are going somewhere that night, etc...?
We didn't set this up, the hotel does this on certain days of the week. Its open to all guests, there were only about 15 of us when we went. They do Senor Frogs and a couple of other clubs. I would ask your wedding coordinator or someone from the hotel. Its part of the weekly activities they put on that include the circus night, mayan night, etc. Have them provide you with a schedule for that week (if they are available that far ahead).
  12. The discotheque at the Moon Palace is okay. Its kind of like the clubs in the US, they play techno and dance music and a bunch of drunk people dance around. If you have a large group of people with you, it should be pretty fun. As far as going downtown, the two times we were there, we went to Senor Frogs through the hotel. The hotel chartered a bus for its guests. It was about $25 per person, but it included all you can drink bracelets at the club. It was such a blast, the bus had black lights and a cool sound system, we danced in the middle of the bus on the way back from the club. I know they did the same thing for other clubs too, but we didn't have the time to do those. They do a few clubs each week, you just need to find out when.

We sent out 130 invitations to about 250 people, and we're only having about 60 at the wedding.

omg I can so relate!! we are facing the same issue, the family members are complaining that its too much and half of them are not going to make it...and then the friends that we hardly see that we thought would not come--have already RSVPd and booked!!
My FI's mother has not decided if she is coming to the wedding. His mother!!! with three months to go. On the other hand, I went out last weekend with some friends and was followed around the bar by a girl who is a friend of a friend's girlfriend, asking me why she wasn't invited to the wedding and how much she wanted to go. Um, no, I dont even know her. I swear DWs bring out the crazy in people.
  14. I know I'm going straight to DW hell for this, but I dont think I'm going to do OOT bags. We went to a wedding where we got little bags of snacks, chapstick and small packets of stuff and I know most of my friends just left them at the hotel after we checked out. I would hate to lug things all the way to Mexico to have people toss it. Most of our guests will bring sunscreen and other necessities and I will mail a newsletter to everyone before they leave, so they know what to pack and what to expect. That said, I'm doing extra things with favors, a welcome dinner and other touches, just not the OOT bags. I think its a personal decision, just figure out what is more important to you and your guests. Hope this made sense.

  15. I'm getting married in July and am having my reception outside on the Lake Terrace. Here are two pictures sent to me by the hotel:
