So, they finally got my dress altered the way it should have been done to begin with. It is a little bit tight around the ribs but I dont want them touching the dress any more. I can deal with it being tight. So when we were getting ready to check out, I was ambushed. The lady asked if I posted a blog which was bashing DB. She actually gave me a print out of the first page of this thread. She told me it would be in my best interest to take this blog down. HA!! No way lady. I am telling everyone I can about my horrible experience with your store!!! The more people that know the truth, the better. I didn't really think I was bashing DB anyways...i was just telling the facts of the case. So, thank you all for all of your feedback. I am still interested in hearing other peoples experiences there, so feel free and keep this thread going. It might come in handy if I decide to go to the media about this (or have to defend myself in a lawsuit.)

..Oh, by the way, they were soooo generous and told us they would refund $50.00 to us. That is so nice of them considering they are a huge corporation who (according to corporate) can afford to lose business. Wierd!
I am amazed at the woman who had the audacity to do that! That is another thing I would go to corporate about. Holy Fack!!! Way to try to turn a negative experience with store into a good one. What the heck is wrong with them!!!

This whole thread is just reinforcing how glad I am that I never set foot in a David's Bridal. I got a fantastic dress of much better quality for about the same price ($900) as David's higher-priced gowns, and I had amazing customer service because it was a locally owned business that cares about their customers. (Sample gown that was in perfect condition.) My alterations were done by a highly recommended local seamstress-- this woman is seriously an amazing talent-- and they were at a good price.

I say this because a lot of women think that DB is the only bargain option, and it's not.

I agree. I bought mine off the rack and saved over $200.00!

I boycotted DB for my wedding because of past experiences (I have been a bridesmaid 7 times). The most notable was my soon to be sister-in-law's wedding. Our BM dresses were a 2 piece - strapless top and tea length skirt in chocolate. I am in a different city so I went in to try on and order my dress. The girl looked up the style number in the computer, I tried it on, and paid for it. About 6 weeks later I get a phone call that says "Hi, we just got both of your skirts in." The girl didn't believe that I hadn't ordered 2 freaking skirts - I ordered a skirt and a top! Then she blamed me for ordering it wrong!! Like I was the one who put the order in the computer. So they order the top - wait, it gets better. They call again to say it is in, I go to pick it up and try it on and notice something isn't right...the top was supposed to be strapless and it was a halter. They ordered the wrong one. Nice. They finally had to rush the order for the right top because here it was 10 weeks later and the wedding was coming up. They suck!!

Another time I went in there they made my friend feel like an alien. She has really big boobs and the lady just kept going on and on about them. "You are BY FAR the largest breasted girl I have EVER worked with" and "It would be a miracle if we have a bra in your size." She left there crying. I will NEVER be a DB customer.

On a positive note (not for them) I had a fantastic experience at Alfred Angelo Bridal. My decision was between a Maggie Soterro from a bridal boutique and one for half the price at AA. I showed pictures of me in both to a lot of people and they all agreed that the AA dress looked the best - without even knowing the designer labels or price! The sales team there is amazing, very attentive, pulling dresses they thought would look great on me. I highly recommend them if you are still looking :)

Just because of your review, I will not be buying from them!! :) I went in there the other night, and felt rather unwelcome, and not one person even greeted me! how rude! It's funny, because you never know who is going to spend money, and for that matter how much! The ones who actually spend money, and on your account, a lot for their store, they treat so horribly! I am sorry you had an experience that not only ruined your day I'm sure, but also made you stress about how you were going to get everything in on time! Best of luck, and definitely don't let them hear the last of it! It is your right as a paying customer, to get what you pay for, and you most certainly did not!

Honestly, it wasnt even about the money. I just wanted the dress to fit and not fall apart. Of course it bugs me a little bit because the dress is $250.00 cheaper now than it was when we bought it...and they only give me 50 bucks. Ha. What a joke. I see other brides or friends have had the same experience I did. DB blames the customer because DB ordered the wrong product. Shandalier, 10 weeks later!! Are you serious!! And they had the audacity to blame you. Completely unacceptable. Id still love to hear more experiences. Maybe that will reinforce to the Noobs that they would probably have a better experience elsewhere.

OH! MY GOSH! I don't know what I would of done if was you...censored.gif

I cannot believe you agreed to repay the alternation... why? It's their mistake!

I wish you the best and I am sure in a few years you will laugh about it and concentrate on the good memories of your dream wedding!
