Don't get me wrong - I love the 80s MJ...I just hate the man he became (IMO)
I totally get what you mean, I agree with you. Although I love his music, it's really hard to look past all that he has done and become.

My DH is actually working at the memorial today and has 3 of the gold programs. I'm curious to see what they are selling for on ebay.

You can give one to me! I've been raving on FB about how bad I want one! i can't pay the $300+ on ebay but would love to have one for a smaller price! As soon as they showed it on CNN about 40 min before the service I have been raving about wanting one

They looked so nice!

I will say it again. I love the Congress woman and she said "A man is innocent until proven guilty"!!!! Many people believe he molested children, but you can't say he did we just don't know

I agree the congress woman said it best! How ironic is that the word CHANGE has become so prevalent. I'm a firm believer of everything happens for a reason and I just hope we ALL are getting the message for the betterment of ALL of us.

I just watched the entire memorial, and it was so amazing.

Amanda, everyone is def entitled to their own opinion and I totallyyy respect that you voiced yours, but let's keep this thread a positive one, with positive thoughts. Let's keep this thread for the fans, not speculations. That should be a whole new thread if people wanted to voice a diff opinion, ya know. Since the majority of the peop's love him on this thread.

My DH actually placed two of the programs on ebay and we'll be keeping one. Who knows if they will even sell because I just checked ebay and there are hundreds of them being sold! If they don't sell (I think he did a 3-day auction) I'll let you know for sure wink.gif

Ha thanks! I'm sure they'll sell. I was looking on there and any under $500 ending today have several bids on them.

WOW I have to admit I'm an MJ fan, but I never thought I'd be so upset! Last night was horrible. It hit me that there is no more MJ. But the kids really pulled on my heart.

i watched the whole thing. I knew they were bringing in the casket so that didn't get me, but as soon as I saw that the hand his brothers and other pallbearers were holding his casket w/ had the glitter glove I just started crying. It was the perfect touch.

Then I did okay until Brooke Shields talked. It was just so real. It wasn't "WHAT, Michael Jackson eats Kentucky fried chicken!" or we always lost to the Jackson boys at softball. She really gave light on the real MJ. And she could barely keep it together, it was nice to see how much his friends cared.

Then when Marlon started talking I choked up. he just started crying right away and said "I'm hurting" But when paris started I broke down!

She reminds me of me 10 years ago. I was the same age as Prince, so only a year older than Paris, when my dad died of a heart attack. We had 2 funerals too, I had seen his body which I've heard they have. Seeing his body made me realize yes my dad is dead but didn't really set in. I sat in front of his casket just like they did and stayed strong, didn't cry etc. But when I went to talk it was just like Paris I broke down. But really it didn't hit me until a month and a half later. At first it felt like he was just on vacaton or something but when a month and a half went by and he didn't come home it really settled in that my dad was never going to come home.

I'm sure Paris, Prince, & blanket are used to their father being gone for a few weeks at a time so I'm sure it will take a bit longer for it to hit them. The hardest part hasn't come yet. I really really feel for them.

Well two days after the memorial and im still struggling to comprehend that MJ has passed.I know for sure that his friends and family did him proud and most certanily i have not cried as much since my sister and princess Dianas passing.Iguess i should make contact with the company that we purchased our concert tickets from.Ithink ill wait till Monday i dont feel ready yet to commit to a refund i was hoping the family would pick up some dates and that it would be my show. However i guess this wont happen so gotta get my head around it.The memorial service was shown at tea time here so after a dash home from work there i sat the whole evening.I didnt know the casket was gunna be there so i was sobbing as soon as the here comes the king started up.Brooke shields had me gasping for breath with her heartfelt comments and the thought of him sitting in a cresent moon smiling is how im gunna remember him. oh my gosh usher singing gone to soon and all the brothers in white gloves and the three children dosent blanket look like his daddy and for those that critize Paris telling the world how she loved her daddy she did what she wanted to do no one was pushing her they were supporting her all the way.sleep tight MJ you will always hold a special place in my heart no one can take away my memories of 1988 and 1992.I know for sure my sister Kerri will be in the queue to learn the moonwalk xx

I haven't really heard about people criticizing her and saying they pushed her. i guess I had to pause it several times throughout to do stuff and knew by the end that she was gonna talk so when they were all up there I was just watching her to see what happens and if you watch it from Jermaine talking several of them come over and ask her if she is sure she wants to and she always says yes, then when janet said she was gonna talk first Marlon leans over and asks her if she's sure she really wants to and she says yes. I'm sure she thought it would be much easier than it was. But knowing it was coming and watching her the 5-10 minutes before I didn't get the jist at all that they were forcing her.

I only knew about his casket cause I had been watching CNN for a few hours before and they had confirmed his casket would be there about and hour or hour & a half before the memorial

I think he would have loved it!
