I can't watch the memorial at work :o( I'll have to watch it tonight, I'm sure it will be on. I do hope that his family gets privacy after this memorial. I feel sad for his kids :o(

MJ and the soldiers are two diff things I think. I feel like the reason the war isn't as publicized as say, celebs dying for instance, is b/c the world has sooo many different views on the war & whether its right or wrong, people could go on forever saying what they think is right or wrong. Whereas the worlds view on MJ is pretty much the same, that he was a phenomenal artist. The war is so deep and involved on so many levels, sometimes it's too much of a touchy subject to make pubic everyday. I know when I watch Nancy Grace she always takes a moment to acknowledge the soldiers, so thats good. So it's def on some channels, just not all. Also don't forget the holidays every year we have honoring those we lost in war, ya know ;o) Hope I made some sense and didn't babble too much ;o)

I've had to pause several times and haven't yet reach brooke shields. but I knew they were bringing in the casket so it didn't rattle me, but as soon as I saw his brothers holding his casket w/ the glove i cried...

My friend who is watching it live said Brooke was really good

Really?? I had no idea...bad/sad indeed!
I agree with you.

And I'm sorry, I will always think MJ was a great artist back in the day...but the last 10 or so years come on...he was a creep. He was obviously very disturbed. Some people had previously said "may he rest in peace". I say may the kids he molested rest in peace.

**I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for that...but I'm just voicing my opinion like everyone else here. And I'm sure there are a lot of people reading this thread that feel the same way & just haven't voiced it.

Don't get me wrong - I love the 80s MJ...I just hate the man he became (IMO)

Amanda - Good on you for speaking your mind! I don't know what to make of the man on a personal level, but I do feel that his music inspired generations of people. I agree that there are certainly things about him in the last 10 years or so that sure seem off or strange. I guess no one will ever really no for sure what happened and what his deal was...and now all it ever will be are rumors and speculation I suppose.

MJ is a LEGEND and has set the standards so high for current and future artists that I don't think it will ever be surpassed. The impact that this one individual has had on trillions of people around the world is AMAZING. I admire him not only for his musical talents but for his constant advocacy on humanitarian causes. May he RIP.
