Surgeries-

1: 5 years old, emergency surgery to remove a plastic earring back I shoved up my nose. Apparently I had pushed it up so far it was grazing a huge vein/artery and they were worried I could have bled to death. My parents say it took hours of work and 3 ear/nose/throat specialists, but all I remember was getting LOTS of attention. cheesy.gif

2: 20 years old, all 4 wisdom teeth

3: 22 years old, corrective surgery for Bartholyns gland cyst (I think that's how you spell it... ?)

I think the inflamed gland is coming back, so I will probably have to have that one again soon. : /

That's so great that your back is good now. I have a friend with spina bifida and she has to wear a brace on her leg as she barely has any muscle in her calf and she does walk with a limp. She gets around great though, which is always good! :)

Oh my! I did something similar to your nose thing but it was with my ear. I had some sort of stuffed animal (stuffed with little balls) and somehow I got the balls out and stuffed them into my ear. Off to the hospital we go. I didn't need surgery though to remove them as I guess they weren't too far in. Sheesh!

I had tube put in my ears twice when I was a kid, tonsils removed, then in my early-mid twenties I have a breast augmentation/corrective surgery, pocket revision due to implant bottoming out, nipple relocation (wasn't sitting proper with implant), implant ports removed, scar revision, and Lasik.

Here's my list!!

age 11 ~ tonsils removed

age 14 ~ scope on left knee for torn cartilage

age 16 ~ 4 wisdom teeth removed

age 24 ~ scope on left knee again for torn cartilage

age 25 ~ acl replacement on left knee

age 28 ~ acl replacement on right knee

Funny thing about all my knee surgeries....I was a ski intructor for 12 years after being told at 13 I should never ski again! But those knees are better than ever now!! (Although I do need another cartilage surgery for the right knee.... LOL!)

Yeah, spina bifida sucks! That's great that she can get around fine though. I also have issues with one calf, no limp though and I've never needed a brace. I just don't have as much muscle and can't jump as high on that leg. I'm training for a half-marathon though so I think that I'm doing pretty good all things considered, lol!

Wow, it's really crazy to hear about everyone's surgeries! The girls who have never had to have one are so lucky! I can only imagine how scary some surgeries can be, like getting a breast lump removed and then having to wait for results! Sounds like we have a lot of strong ladies on the forum!
