Foxy - I agree!! One of the specialist that I saw for my knee this time told me that the injury that I have (torn ligaments, meniscus) is more common in women than in men. Also, more likely to happen when you're having your period. Weird!

It happened March 4th and the party was the 6th. UGH!!!
We still joke about the party, my friends were doing wheelies with my wheelchair. All in all I just wanted everyone to have fun and stop worrying about me. I think they did, we ran out of bottled beer and only had a little left in the keg =) shots.gif

Surgeries...I am an old pro....And not even 29 years old...

I have had at least 20 Colonoscopies...(what fun)

#1 Surgery Total Colectomy ( complete removal of colon)

#2 Surgery (On Valentine's Day) Emergency Surgery to stop bleeding from #1

#3 J-Pouch Construction Surgery

#4 Temp J-Pouch undo b/c of abcess less than 3 days after coming home from #3

#5 Cyst Removal

#6 Wisdom Teeth Removal

#7 - indefinite Yearly J-pouch inspection (not quite surgery but I do get the good drugs and the pretty gown)

So....ummm I think I have had my fair share...

Surgeries... hmmm...

Wisdom teeth x 4 = That was when we discovered the servere allergy to codiene - lovely

Sinus Surgery - Turbinatectomy x 2

Sinus Surgery - scar band removal from infection during healing from first surgery

Sinus Surgery - Call it a cleaning

Lip biopsy - Testing for Sjogrens (local)

Lip Salavery gland abcess removal (the skin healed over one of the dissolvable stitches and abcessed) (local)

Sinus Surgery - Should be final one... new doctor... 10 years later... major removal of scarring and turbinate bone malformation, polyp removal.

I am hoping to stop there. :)

I've had three but one was a biggie.

On my 6th birthday I had spinal cord surgery (great birthday present huh? I was in the hospital for almost 2 months!). It took me over a year to recover so I think that was even worse than the surgery itself! I do have a pretty cool scar though (according to my guy friends at least), about 6 inches long...they tell everyone that I was really in a knife fight and I won, lol.

My second was eye surgery at 8 and third was wisdom teeth out at ~22.

Lucky for you otherwise you would have gotten them out by now I'm sure, just like the rest of us! lol

No worries. I was actually born with spina bifida and I had tumours growing on my spine so if they didn't remove them I would have become paralyzed. I'm really lucky to have had great doctors since my back is completely fine now! I know that a lot of people with spina bifida aren't so lucky.
