So ladies have any of you hand painted your parasols?

I'm wanting 3 hand painted parasols. If i wanted 1 i would just have it done, but they are $49 each and w/ 3 it just seems ridiculous to pay $150 for them. I was thinking about just hand painting them myself. Then it would only cost me $25 But I was curious if anyone had done it and what time of paint to use on them? I've never actually had one of the parasols so I don't really know what kind of paper they are. Are they like a paper lantern, or better paper? I know michaels lists projects and they have how to hand paint an aisle runner but I didn't know if the runner paper was similar to parasols?

I need your advice, what do you girls think?

Thanks Katrina!

The other night I was looking for a thread. Although, i have to admit that it wasn't much help. I am wanting the larger parasols that i'll buy myself and then paint them. We're doing a couple different things on them, and not painting them one color.

I guess I will have to be the guinea pig for the girls!

In the thread that Katrina posted I posted pics of my DIY parasols. We used our own wordings and design layout, we didn't just paint them one color. I'm not sure how large of parasols you are looking for?
