Mariachi Band

I am looking for a Mariachi w/ at least 6 musicians for no more than $400 an hour (which is the standard price in Los Angeles). I'm not sure why most mariachis in Cancun start at over $500 for only 45 mins. Perhaps that's the "American" price?!!

Anyhow, if anyone has had success in contracting a group in this range, can you please let me know?

I find the prices crazy but I agree I think these may be the "American" prices - lol

I know it would be super last minute but I was thinking that I might just go into the center of town when I arrive and ask one of the mariachi bands (on the street) if they would be interested.....risky to wait but will definitely be more worth it. If you can't find any then you could always book last minute through your hotel WC

I was able to contract an 8-piece band for $500 for 60 minutes. I think it is def a matter of negotiating! I asked my onsite WC for mariachi contacts and took it from there, however, many of them only spoke Spanish...

I am also looking for a Mariachi Band in November at Hacienda Tres Rios....3 piece band is fine. Has anyone actually used one? I am going to speak to my WC and see what he says.
