Ok I have a question, you mentioned you are going to wear a veil, Did you try one one with that dress? I guess why I'm saying this is because the back of the dress kindof looks like it has a veil attached to it already, so I wonder if it would take away from the dress?

I am slowly learning that this is one of the only times of our lives when we have to be a little selfish and not care what other people think. My mom hated my colors... my BM's weren't excited about a dress I thought was great (and now it's a huge dilemma)... You aren't going to please everyone. As long as you are excited about it, that's all that matters. You are putting unnecessary stress on yourself when you start to wonder what people think. My mom has always said I have a style of my own.. my friends are always like "that's so Heidi".. that's right, and that's what I like!! You are not put in this world to be like everyone, or like everything everybody else likes.. that's what makes us all individuals... Rock on with whatever dress YOU like, and maybe throught your excitement your sister will learn to adore it!!!!

if it helps you at all, i did buy the super expensive dress. and i regret it. not that i didn't love my dress, i did. but it didn't make my day any more special. i wish i would have gone w/a cheaper dress - i would have been just as happy, felt just as "bridal" .. and i'd have a few thousand $$ more in my bank account! i love your dress - it's exactly what i wish i would have bought!

I'm with the other girls. If you were having doubts BEFORE your sister saw your dress, then keep looking. You still have time to find the perfect dress! However, if your second thoughts started after her reaction, don't worry about it. Everyone has different taste. When I showed my mom and my sister my dress they weren't so thrilled with it. Their idea of a wedding dress is a ball gown and nothing but. However, I am not about to go around the hot streets of Mexico in a ball gown. So I got something light, flowy and comfortable! I love my mom and my sister but I'm not about to spend my wedding day uncomfortable. Also, I'm like you, I have a budget on a dress and did not want to spend some exuberant amount on one. I love my dress. Granted, whenever I'm looking through magazines I see other ones that I love more but, unfortunately, those are not within my budget so why bother getting depressed over it? You will always find something better...it's a matter of whether or not you want to spend that price difference. If you don't want to spend $5K on a dress then find one within your budget and don't compare that dress to the $5K dress because it's like comparing apples to oranges. You definitely should not settle on a dress and I think you should truly love what you buy...but if you're forking an arm and a leg on it, no matter how great it looks if it's not within your budget another part of you is going to be unhappy. So find one that makes you wallet and your heart happy :) Hope this helps!

Is your sister near you? You should have her see you in the dress.

I tried on this Pronovias dress this weekend and loved it! I went on line to find it and the picture did not do it justice, honestly, I would have never tagged it by viewing the picture alone.

I think you should definetly reconsider, I mean, Reem Acra- I'm sure its a beautiful dress!

I think that dress is beautiful. Very bridal and not overdone, perfect for the beach. And saving $4k+ almost makes it a given, if you like it that is. You won't wear it to another party or anything, so you don't have to break the bank and if you like it then why not? I could have been in jeans for the difference it made in how I felt when I got to the end of the aisle. The dress is the last thing on your mind when you're caught in the rapture of the day anyway :o)

I love this dress on you. Its perfect for a DW and looks like its flowy and beautiful.

Can your sister see it on you? If not, go with what you love. If you love it, get it. Maybe you should try on more dresses just to be sure. Go try it on again, and then try on some other dresses and if you still love it. Get it. Your sister is not wearing it, you are.

I think that it will be bridal enough once your hair is done and you have a boquet and that bridal glow that I've seen in everyone's pictures.

I do have a sister and I know that I would seek her opinion in everything I do too... but I don't want my wedding to be like hers. I think a wedding is where you show of YOUR style (and your FI's).

If you love it (and the price), buy it. Treat your sister to a massage with the money you saved and I'm sure she'll love it too :)
