Expecting more than 70 guests?

Recommended Posts

We are getting married at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in February and are expecting @ 70 guests. We picked the Riu because it is big enough to accommodate a large group, but not too big (like the Moon Palace or Iberostars) so we would still be able to find each other and feel like a group. The Riu is also kid friendly which was important to us for families traveling and is also a gorgeous resort.

Good luck decided upon a resort!

Here is a pic from my reception I'll try to post more later, I was very very happy with the place and I wouldn't change anything.. it was perfect to me!

Have you looked at Puerto Morelos, just 15 mins. south of Cancun, away from tourists but very accessible for those who want to get to Cancun or Playa del Carmen. I've got 80-100 guests and am getting married at Paradisus Riviera Cancun resort, it's AI and kid friendly.

It's part of the Sol Melia chain. It's fantastic.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do either of you have photos of how and where the reception would be set up?

Hi Melissa - unfortunately I don't have any photos yet of the set up. The reception is going to be under a large palapa near the pool, it is covered but will still be open-air which we thought was the best of both worlds.
If I get some pictures I will definitely pass them on!
