Great thread! I was totally wondering what to do about the makeup situation too. I haven't worn makeup in years except for very rare occasions and mostly just playing around. Any advice on keeping even minimal amounts of makeup from melting off in the heat? I am thinking of doing eyelash extensions in lieu of mascara, has anyone tried this before?

I wear make-up almost daily. I decided to use the spa to do my makeup because I just didn't want to worry about doing it, getting nervous, poking myself in the eye with the wand, and all that nonsense. Plus I tend to go a little heavy handed at times with the eye liner. what can I say..I'm a child of the 80's. I figured that if the makeup artist made me look like a clown then I would wipe it off.

Victor at Dreams Tulum did my makeup and he did a great job. He went very light on the makeup just enough to enhance my features and it didn't melt off. I was very pleased and thought I looked very good and not made up. I was also not stressed out because all I had to do was get dressed.

Here's a little tip for Dreams brides: Use the discount off spa services (%20) towards your hair and makeup. My total bill for my updo and makeup was $96 US. This is a very good deal. My updo costs for my AHR tomorrow starts at $65 and that's here in Albany

I'm with you - never wear makeup. While I am intrigued by the idea of visiting the counter, getting suggestions, and practicing, I guess I'd rather spend the $200 (or less) on the professional for one day than end up with $200 worth of makeup that I won't ever use. I'm going with Suzanne Morel - from what I can see of others here that have used them, they don't overdo it and most of the girls look very natural (at least in their photos).

No! It's not silly at all. If anyone is silly it's me being almost 30 years old and not being able to draw a straight line on my own eyelid....I just can't get eyeliner! I used to play with makeup in like 7th-11th grade. I only bought expensive stuff thinking it would give me skills but I wasn't good at it and I stopped.

I can line the hell out of my lips when I'm feeling saucy though!!

Do you use liquid eye liner? If so, try the other kind. What do you call it, pencile liner. I have found a smudgy, smooth pencile type is the easiest to put on.

I can't use the liquid liner either. Looks great for those who can do it right -- but definitely not me. I use the liner pencils and can get pretty creative and good with those!
