Holy crap I went to work for half a day and there is 20 minutes of reading... Ok I totally can see myself with the laptop on the alter keeping up with the Feb, chitter chatter.... Ah NO!!!!! I did think about doing a webcam for my grandpa back home though and then went nah... Too complicated!!!!

Raykel how many bouquets do you need? I'll leave mine in a flower bed outside my room and you can pick it up... hahahaha That be funny!!! Oh look honey your flower is hanging in the tree...

All these little details!!!! You don't need lazy people asking you to look up bloody flights!!!! grrrrrrrr

I think we need to make a pot of stupid stew.... First person I am throwing in is my stepdaughter... It's my fault her friend snapped at me... she was fighting with her boyfriend and I came at a bad time... WHO"S GOT A STITCH FROM LAUGHINGhuh.gif? that is what she told me this morning... Oh and then maybe my brother is going in the stew too.

Ok I have to go back to work.... I think one of the homes I have been working on is going to sell today... This couple is coming back for the third time... I have to make sure the house looks all pretty....

Have fun my lovelies... your are welcome to add to the pot of stupid stew....

Hi Ladies!

What a cool thread you have started with lots of info/advice/support and friendship too! Sorry to bud in, but I saw that someone mentioned buying the things for the sand ceremony at pier 1. I've heard that beautiful speech about the sand combining into one, and wondered if anyone had the wording to help me out and if they wouldn't mind posting it.

We are getting married on Feb 1 at the Grand Princess Riviera. My "to do" checklist is huge! I thought this destination wedding stuff was supposed to be stress free!

Hi all,

Been awhile since I posted, another February 2 2010 bride here....29 days !!!! argh.

I am trying to find words for sand ceremony so if anyon has any ideas out there please email me at [email protected]

My list is pretty much complete, but I know I will have forgotten something. OOT bags done, flowers chosen, ohhhhh forgot, CD's to burn yet, also making a small currency exchange card to add to OOT bags. Gotta get hunney's pants hemmed and pick up my dress on the 22nd. I wanted to get our rings engraved but couldn't think of anything "catchy", "special" to put on them, his in particular.

Another thing I'd like to do and if you ladies have any ideas, templates, etc I'd love to hear from you, is a welcoming note with ideas on activities, maps, for your info stuff etc. We are staying at Grand Cozumel, so if any of you ladies can help I'd really be most appreciative. Should have come on here sooner to ask for help, but just started back to work after an injury had me laid up for 9 months and now it's all coming up so quickly.

Lol... so ladies can we plan on our Feb Bride Meet Up being at the Mexican Jail in Mexico City cause you might all have to visit me there!

I wanted a destination wedding to avoid the stress of who doesnt want to sit with who and if so and so is coming I wont be coming! Yet..here I am stressing!

destinations? Extra suitcase or a broker? My wedding planner suggested a broker.. but I figured I would pay the extra $25 for an extra suitcase.

Are you giving OOT gift bags and a gift at your wedding?

Kim :-)
Kim Welcome and BREATHE! Ok now that thats said I would HIGHLY recommend you find a travel agent who has been down to your resort and can help you coordinate with the hotel and your guests so when they call you -- you can say here is the phone number call Lisa (Thats my TA's name) and it has been soooo much less stress for me.

I am bringing extra suitcases and loading down my family with them too.

I am doing OOT bags for all the guests and giving bridesmaids/bridesmen (I have both) wedding gift as thank yous.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
Get this one my resort starts out at $115 for a maid of honor bouquet and since I can't bring it home I went natuaral touch too.

I love you gals in this thread, at this point, I cant imagine what I would do without yous...

Wow, lots of new gals posted today, welcome :)

Hi Jammies, I made a brochure on Vistaprint, that was pretty simple and had some info- also made a post card with double sides, one of the town and one of the resort- think I paid under $20 for the lot and it was pretty easy to put together (they have it all online, designs and everything). They have a sale about every 3rd day. Sorry I dont have info about your resort, we are in a different locale.

Hi Tinkatude (I love that name!)- I think all of our weddings are set up so differently. First off, our big day is in Jamaica-mon (I think most everyone in here is getting hitched in Mexico)... My FI and I sent out save the date emails in September, invites 3 months ago, and way cheap vistaprint invites to the AHR (which is a Jamaican themed pig roast of all things) for those that were not invited to Jamaica (about a week ago). We used a TA, who has been wonderful and there are 64 of us going, all but 2 couples staying at the same AI as us. We are having a rehearsal dinner with 60 of us, and about 40 of us will be boozin it up during the Superbowl, which will be projected on a Jumbotron at the resort. :)) We will probably have 1 dinner alone (which our resort provides special) and the rest of the time will be hanging out with our best friends and family. We live far from most everyone, so this to me sounds like an amazing long weekend.

Our AHR is 2 weeks after the wedding. If you get your bags now, I bet you can achieve a nice OOT bag by visiting a good Dollar store and a Target. Especially if you dont have too many to do. (advil, tissues, gum/candy, and a magazine for on the beach would fit the bill for most). I have also learned that you can do crazy cool stuff with a printer, MS Word/Powerpoint and some Avery products. I have made personalized bags, bookmarks, puzzle books, crosswords, drink lists, coloring books, a welcome book, door hangers, monogram stickers, bag labels, luggage tags, CDs, programs, you name it. For me aside from marrying my best friend and getting to purchase and wear an amazing dress, making the OOT bags has been my favorite part (lots of love has gone into them)

We are having the wedding in a garden overlooking the beach and the reception (with a sit down dinner) on the beach itself at sunset. We hired a DJ and a guitarist so we can boogie :)... We are bringing our own photographer and I got a video camera for my last bday to video the day. My gf is letting me borrow her tripod so people can leave us messages :) ... We bought fresh flowers from the place, my bouquet will have pink and white roses and orchids and the MOH/BMs will have only white. Groom and Groomsmen will have white orchid boutonnieres. The MOBs (there are 3) will get a rose each, delivered by 3 boys (nephews of ours). 5 little nieces will spread rose petals (if the freeze dried rose petals ever arrive!!)...

This is our first time getting married and we have spent every penny of what my parents set aside for the big day. About 50% of our cost is bringing in guests (we both have siblings with 4 kids each, who are all coming and who are all on scholarship lol)..

Honestly, we initially wanted to keep it super small, but realized how much our families would enjoy a big party so opted for it and are excited for it. The beauty of a DW is that you can do as little or as much as you are comfortable with and in the end it can still be an amazing wedding and all of the guests will have fun.

The most stress has been getting the guests booked, fielding comments about the cost, and thank goodness for our TA (cant say how many times I have recommended that someone call Michelle)

Gosh guess I got to rambling again (thanks again that I have yall to ramble to)

What am I going to do when it all over? (make babies wink.gif)))
