Uh-oh My FSIL is FLIPPING

Good luck on talking to your FSIL. I hope that she calms down and realizes that it isn't really that big of a deal. The airline staff are usually very good with people that have little ones and understand what you are going through with the wee ones.

Well fsil emailed me today (nothing about the plane thing) and before i could email her back fi called me to tell me he talked to her. And it was like talking to a totally different person. Now the plane thing is no big deal and they are just getting keegan a safety seat so it will keep him still. She said he'll need the seat eventually anyway because they like to travel.

Go figure, i guess everything is okay. I'm going to give her some of the tips from you girls.

I can always count on you girls for help! Thanks again everyone.

I'm not worried about my bags or Joe and I. I just have to do what is best for Keegan.

I'm not really freaking out about this yet. I have the mindset right now that it's out of my hands but i have a feeling they might not come if she cant get a direct flight.
I didn't read all the answers but this is one of those situations where each person has to make their own decisions. If the flight doesn't work out, then it looks like someone is staying home. If it does, then great!

It's her choice what she wants to put her child through and really, who can blame her....but that doesn't mean everyone else has to accommodate her. When you have children, you have a few years where you can't do what everyone else is doing. So only she can decide how much hassle she wants to put up with to come to your wedding. If she can't, that's the way the ball bounces. You'll miss her, but oh well. If she can come, then great!

Thanks Emily. But she calmed down the next day and was totally fine with taking the flight with the short layover. She isnt worried about it anymore. I think she was thinking the worst and i've told her about some of the girls on here flying with infants and being okay so that made her feel a lot better.

You girls are the best! love yas
