Dreams Cancun brides 2008/2009...I am a little worried

Recommended Posts

I received my contract from Claudia about a week ago and of course I had a couple of questions. From reading thru threads I wanted to go with outside photograher and DJ that some people noted. Claudia sent me external supplier policy that states:

External Suppliers Policies

As per Dreams Cancun polices we do not allow any external supplier to perform on private event functions in areas such as entertainment, music, decoration, lighting, audiovisual, photos, video, flowers, etc. We make it our responsibility to protect our establishment's name and stellar reputation, thus prefer to avoid possible negative incidents that could damage both yours and our company name.

Please allow us the opportunity to manage this event for you.

Did anyone else receive this? Do you know if this is something new? I just wanted to make sure if anyone booked an outside vendor, it was checked with her first.

I am disappointed, I really wanted to work with outside vendor with some things..really don't know how to handle.

Sorry for this post!! I just found one similar!! thanks!! I don't know how or if I can delete this

I didnt have the disclaimer on my contract but i was told already by the WC.. I was upset at first but the way everyone made it seem i guess its easier & less stress. The DJ issue really upset me but if its not meant to be its not. I also think this is going to pull away alot of future brides I was close to being one of them.

It was less stress letting them handle it, it is very hard to manage from a far.
I know you won't be dissappointed if you are married there.

Yes, one of them may be me! I am really a picture person, and want tons of great pics! Its my wedding and I'm only gonna have one, I need pics to last a lifetime or maybe longer! I am so upset about this! i e-mailed her a week ago asking for package prices for their photographer. I am soooo hopeing that I mis read the policy and she only will use 1 photographer, like Claudia Rodriguez. I hope I hope. I really freaking out that she hasn't gotten back to me yet!

She said we could use another guy Juan Navarro as well after looking at their websites they are pretty good.. I def. want to do the TTD but i guess i will just go to another location rather then doing it at my hotel. Probably work out better since I will already have pictures from my hotel since its included with my package.

  • 2 weeks later...

i have been reading these threads on this new policy, however, daniella never mentioned this to me, and i had even mentioned in one of my previous emails to her, well over a month ago, while i was searching for an available date for my wedding that i needed an answer from her right away as i was trying to get my photographer booked as well. so that should have told her that i was using an outside photographer, right?! i am flying my photographer in and he will be a guest at the hotel for 4 nights, so it's not like he's a local just coming in for the day.

should i be concerned about this issue too? i have proof in my emails that i stated using a photographer and she never said anything to me about a new policy, so am i in the good? i don't feel that i need to email her asking about this either. my contract has been signed, and i paid well over what the wedding package costs for my actual deposit. so what's done is done, right? what do you all think? she can't deny one of my guests being my photographer, right? especially when this new policy isn't stated anywhere on any of my emails/documents sent to me, and the actual contract itself.

huh.gif

errr.... now i'm nervous about this.
