My DIY "Bride and Bridesmaid" Rhinestone Bathing Suits and Tanks

Recommended Posts

Having a lot of different clothing that says "Bride," "Soon to be Mrs. Wilson," etc... is something I have thought about long before I was even thinking about marriage! I just think it's such a fun idea.

I do not, however, think the price you can pay for some of these things is so fun...

I'm pretty crafty, and I have seen another bride on this forum do this so I figured.... "what the heck...I'll give this a DIY try!" WOW am I glad I did!! These projects were SO cheap and easy and the outcome is awesome! I am so pleased with how everything cam out!

I only did 2 bathing suit bottoms so far and one tank top, but I am going today to pick up more supplies!

Here is what I did so far:

Sorry the pics are not the best... I took them with my phone and the light was awful at midnight! lol

I definitely plan to make a "Bride" tank, "bridesmaid/maid of honor" tanks, and possibly bathing suits for the girls as well.

The "bride" rhinestones on the black suit are from Hobby Lobby. "bride" asctually had two hearts next to it, but I wasn't crazy about the hearts, so I just cut that part off.

The "I DO" with the ring is a DIY. I bought a page of single letters A-Z from Hobby Lobby, but they were small (only one rhinestone thick) so I used letters like Z and X to add more rhinestones and make the letters bigger. To make the ring, I used the rhinestones left over fro the hearts that I didn't like that were next to "bride".

The flower girl rhinestones are also from Hobby Lobby. The tank is from Target and already had the fun rhinestones at the top.

The bathing suits are from Wal-Mart... only about $8 for the bottom!

I will add more pics of the other tanks, etc as I make them :)

Let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Planning, ladies!

Oh, yeah! Sorry I forgot to say they are iron-on. It was so easy and I was honestly surprised they really did just stick right to the fabric with the iron.

I am so going to do this! I was wondering how you put them on also! Iron on. Got it. So they don't feel like they're going to fall off at all? The tanks that you are referring to, are they tops for the bottoms? You're so creative! I love them!

Those bathing suits are so cute! Are you doing tops too? That's a great idea!
The bathing suits have tops but I'm not going to add any rhinestones. :)
