Overwhelmed 2014 Bride

Hello Everyone!

I am very excited to start reading everything this website has to offer. To be honest, this whole wedding planning is VERY overwhelming!! We are thinking of getting married in Feb 2014 in the Riviera Maya and our guest list will be around 100. I am hoping for a resort that has under 500 rooms and relatively new. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, suggestions on how to get oneself organized would also be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I don't know of any resorts off hand, but my travel agent did all the looking for a resort for me. I gave him a list of the things that I wanted, and he came back with a list of resorts. So I would definitely recommend getting a travel agent, particularly one who specializes in destination weddings.

For ex, we wanted: 24 hour food and booze, kids allowed at the resort, at least 4 stars, under $2000 per person, all inclusive, and a few other details. He came back with 2 resorts that met both of the requirements, and we chose one based on the reviews online. Turns out the wedding package is half the price at the resort we chose than the other one, so make sure to inquire into the cost of the wedding package too!!

Hello BridevanB,

Wedding planning is so much fun especially when you have the right people assisting you.  Here is my advice if you ask yourself the following question, are you looking for an all inclusive resort?

does it have to be family friendly or adult only? do you want to be close to 5th avenue or a little bit outside? what is your ideal budget for your guests to spend on their rooms.  There are good TA on here that would be happy to assist you in meeting your expectations.

I would suggest in looking into playacar palace and Hacienda Tres Rios.

Feel free to ask me anything and I will be happy to help!

Happy Planning.

Joyce
