I finally finished my DIY boarding passes, and wanted to share with everyone because I couldn't have done it without this site!  I am not very artsy fartsy so this was a bit of a challenge at first.  After, all my friends and family received them I impressed myself.  I tried to keep everything on a budget.  If you ladies have any questions let me know.  I will attempt to give you step by step what I did.

For Supplies:

At Michael's I purchased~

1 8 oz bag of raffia $5.99 (lots left over)

2 pks pastel flower brads $2.29 ea

2 pks double sided tape $3.99 ea

1 mega glue stick $2.99

1 brad setter $7.99 (bought on a whim, and so glad I did)

used a paper cutter (already had one)

i printed off a 40% coupon on line and my total was $26.33

Another BDW bride lead me to envelopperinc.com - thank you for that!  I bought:

2 pks stardream vista #10 envelope 4 1/8 x 9 1/2  - 50/pk    $17.90 ea

And, I walked into paper source, and fell in love with the paper so I splurged on that because I felt like I had been doing pretty good!

10 pks of 8.5 x 11 text weight paper shimmer-silver  $3.75 ea for a pk of 10 (10% off when you buy 10 pks)

and, I grabbed labels for my logo~

2 pks of 2.5 inch orange printable circle labels $5.95 (I have plenty left over for more projects)

My FFIL works at a college and was able to print for us, no charge!  What a great guy :) He also rounded the corners of the boarding pass for me, and preforated the passes so that they looked authentic.

to assemble everything:

My MOH put the brads to connect the passes.  My BM cut the paper, while i glued the sides.  We then printed out the logos on the labels.  I wrapped raffia around the paper and stuck on the labels:

My BM hand wrote all the addresses and we used the double sided tape on the envelopes so we didn't have to lick all of them :)

The only other thing I spent money on was stamps.  80 was $36

Special shout out to all you ladies who took the time to explain how to do this!  It really pushed my creativity and I feel great!  My friends and family couldn't believe I put this together.  If there are any questions, let me know!

My one tip is, keep it under 1 ounce so you only need 1 stamp!  You don't need heavy paper.  It comes from your heart and people will love it!

Cheers ladies!

i used paper I bought from paper source.  We used a paper cutter to trim it so the boarding passes would fit, then used a glue stick for the top and the right side.  We actually folded in the left side instead of cutting it!  shhh... top secret :)

i feel good now that the STD's are out.  I am also trying to live a healthier lifestyle so i will be more in shape by May :) I think next on my list is dress shopping and looking for BM dresses.  I am hoping to look for clothes by the end of summer so maybe I can get a great sale!  I want to shop for OOT bags so bad but not sure on the number of people yet. What is your man going to be wearing?  Are you doing linen pants?

Yay, dress shopping. That should be a fun experience for you. I can't wait to see the one that steals your heart

Now is the perfect time to buy new summer attire, I've already started stocking up on new bikinis and sun-dresses. I know they won't be on sale if I wait until 2013 to buy them.

We purchased a 3 piece linen suit for my Fi and 2 piece suit (vest and pants) for his Best Man.  They're natural in color with a subtle herringbone pattern and we purchased them at 60% off which was a great deal. He hasn't figured out what he wants for footwear but that's a detail that I'm not worried about.
