Photographers and wedding pictures

Recommended Posts

Hey

My fiancé and I are planning a wedding in March 2013 at either Gran Bahia Principe or Grand Palladium in Jamaica. I wondering if any one has been there for their wedding or is planning a wedding there - is so did you go with the photographer on the the resort or brought in their own photographer ?? I 'm not sure what exactly to do. Plus I would like to do trash the dress photos there as well and not exactly sure on how to go about that either.

 Thanks for your input!!!

Hi there,

I was married at the Gran bahia Principe in January.  We choose to hire our own outside photographer from jamaica, Merrick Cousley.  At the time we chose this resort for our wedding they were using Digipix for their resort photographers.  From what we seen and heard they were pretty awful.  However, I beleive it was in late 2011 (October, November) that they switched to different photographers at the resort.  With our wedding package we received 5 free photos from the resort photographer and we were actually pleased with them.  Overall, I'm still happy we went with an outside photographer over the resort photographer as it ended up being cheaper.  That being said, I heard now from some future brides getting married at the Gran Bahia Prinicpe in Jamaica that they are now charging an outrageous outside vendor fee ($800).  So if you do seriously consider this resort double check what the vendor fee is before booking any outside vendors.
