Hi everyone,

I just signed up today! After reading so many posts and having no idea what I am doing, I was convinced that I needed to join. My fiance and I have been looking into having a destination wedding for a few months now. We started with St. Lucia, Aruba, Punta Cana and Jamaica. We have decided with Jamaica since I have family there and its where a lot of people have been. However, I have quite a few options and don't know what to choose or how to plan a wedding, let alone a destination wedding. Someone please help! I have also been trying to find a TA, any suggestions?

Welcome!

Having recently gotten married in Jamaica, I can tell you great choice!  As to the details I would say your next action is to decide on a resort (if you are thinking all inclusive) or a venue for your wedding and reception.  Once you decided on a resort/venue contact a wedding planner from there and book a date.  After that they will help you and guide you through the planning!  Good luck!

I agree with JayKay. I am in the process of planning a December wedding in Jamaica. The most important things is don't get stressed. I choose 3 resorts and weighed the pros and cons of each, contacted all the wedding planners with questions and then decided on one. Then we booked the day of the wedding. Once that is booked you can talk with the wedding planner. Most wedding planners like to finalize things once you arrive there. It sounds scary but I have heard that the process is relaxing and the weddings turn out beautiful.
