Cost of legal marriage in Jamaica?

My fiance and I still trying to decide about getting legally married in Jamaica. Do you know how much it costs for the legal ceremony (hiring minister), marriage license application, and all the necessary paperwork/processing? Thanks so much!

I got married in Novemeber and used a minister provided by Helen G Events and it was US$300 for everything.

Most ministers usually charge between US$300 and US$350 to do everything and to send the marriage certificates to you after your wedding ceremony. Certificates usually take a max of 6 weeks to be prepared.

We're doing a legal ceremony at the resort and we're paying $200 for the minister and all of the paperwork.  I think it all depends where you do it!

Yes at the hotels its different than when you do it yourself as the hotels just have the minister come in and do the ceremonies for that afternoon so its discounted. But if the minister has to travel to you alone whereever you are thats the usual rate.

Our is costing us $200 for the minister.  We also payed $40 to have our IDs notarized by a lawyer in Canada.

Our wedding coordinator is only asking for copies of our birth certificates and photo id. Do the documents need to be notarized?

Each resort has their own way of doing things.  For our resort they did have to be notarized.  I would just ask your wedding planner too see.
