Reception Options at Paradisus Palma Real

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow brides!

I just got engaged in August and we have decided to book our wedding at the PPR October 2012!  We are having all our guests stay in the reserve section and I'm trying to decide on a reception spot.  The wedding will be on the beach and I'm torn between the Olympus Terrace by the pool, or the Gabi Beach - anyone know anything about either of these spots?? Any pics/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Congrats!!

I was debating between Olympus Terrace by the pool and Gabi Terrace... I liked Olympus Terrace by the pool (https://picasaweb.google.com/romanceatparadisuspalmareal/LocationsAtParadisusPalmaReal#5447951346393211650) because it looks like you can have a view of the beach AND the pool. I'll also be able to wear some heels since it's not actually on the beach/sand.  Ultimately my decision was made easy because they told me in order to get Gabi Terrace I had to privatize the Gabi Beach restaurant which was about an extra 10k.  I'm not sure if the beach area by Gabi Beach Restaurant requires the same fee.

I asked Cemone if they had any other pics aside from the ones on their Picasa gallery -- she said no. :( I have scoped out the photos on Tripadvisor to help me get a better sense of the resort.

I'm only 3 months away and you're probably farther along with planning than I am! Keep me posted!! :)

Thanks for the pics! Yes, it's crazy how they upcharge the Gabi to that amount of money, made my decision easy too! We went with the poolside terrace, it's the only option other than the beach and the ballroom that you don't have to pay for an upcharge, and with the beach you then have to buy a dance floor. I agree I don't really want to dance or eat in the sand :-)

Congrats to you too! Good luck with the rest of your planning!

Hey gals,

Who are your wedding coordinator?  I had trouble with Diana and haven't heard from her for two months then finally find out that she's not there anymore, they then gave me Marlen who is so far ok.

I'm also having trouble picking reception , initally wanted the gabi terrace but Diana told me i had to privatize gabi restaurant or there will be music volume limitations.

So I'm in between olympus terrace and just found out about market grill, from the picture it seems to be right by the beach but still on solid ground.  I going to ask more about that. its a 1000 extra to book at the market grill. My first question will be can it fit 50-60 people there and how private will it be.

congrats to you two :)

Hi Praye - the market grill is really nice. It's right off of the beach, which is the perfect location. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it has room dividers throughout it because it's really a restaurant. There's also a floor to ceiling divider that cuts right through the center. There is really no wide open area that would serve well for a dance floor for 50-60 people, in my opinion, but it would definitely be large enough to seat 100 guests for dinner. The other thing I didn't like is you can see the kitchen/buffet area  - it's wide open.  I really struggled with the decision of whether or not to choose that location, but decided against it. It's beautiful though!

Hi Ladies,

I know some people are skeptical about sharing there budgets but I'd like to be able to share. I have no idea what's normal and what's ok to spend. I personally would like to stick with a 15K budget which includes dress, travel and everything. It's looking like I will have a lot more than the 24 guest they allot your with your wedding package which turns out to be an extra $100 per person.

I guess I don't really have any questions but I would love for us all to band together on this one. I could really use the help.

Thanks!!!

I think I'm looking at 12-15k just for the wedding, reception and photographer but haven't nailed down all the costs just yet. We have the Aqua package but are estimating 50 people right now (26 over the 24 included in the package) and we're doing a plated meal with an extra entree option (pay per plate). I keep reminding myself that this is way more cost effective than having a wedding in NYC.

Who have you ladies been working with so far?

P.S. Paradisus Palma Real has an iphone app -- http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/paradisus-palma-real/id436321056?mt=8 !!

thanks MDube for the feedback on Market Grill.  I did see the dividers in the seating area and was worried. I am probably not going to have there. I so want to be near the beach but doesn't look like there's any solid ground to have the wedding near the beach except for privatizing Gabi which is too much money.

For Indie and Heavenone,  i just got assigned Marlen after Diana had left. She or He is alright.  A lot better than Diana on replying to your emails.   I'm going with the aqua package but getting buffet style since my family are big eaters.  They don't understand the sit down dinners. lol    I was hoping to stay around 15K but I too have a total guests of 50-60 guests and I am going to have rehearsal dinner that includes all my guests, cause my family would not understand why people would be excluded. So it's going to run over 15K but we'll see what I can live without to make the budget lol.
