Need Help deciding on timing of first dance

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out when to have our first dance. My FI and I are getting married at 1:30 on the beach then am going to have a cocktail hour, have to make sure the resort can do it right after the ceremony....so the question is should we have our first dance(s), ours, father daughter and mother son,  and speeches at the cocktail hour or should we, after the dinner provided by the resort go back to the gazebo and have our dance there?

Funds are tight so we are not going to have a 'reception' there, I thought after dinner we would all hang out at one of the bars on the resort before the dance club opens.

Opinions are welcome.  I am emailing our resort to confirm the cocktail hour and location after our ceremony tomorrow.

Thanks all

I think it might be nice if you did it after your cocktail hour and then that way its done and out of the way, you can relax and enjoy your dinner and reception.  Also, the guests will all be together then anyways, might be easier to just do it then.  Also, if you wait till after dinner and reception to go back to the gazebo it probably would be dark outside, and that means they might make you pay for lighting ect.  Something to think about!

Thanks JayKay!
