The best month to go to Cancun / Riviera Maya during "OFF" season??

Recommended Posts

I have been researching Riviera Maya AI Resorts for over 2 months!!

I want to go during off season to avoid the crowds for my guest.

Does anyone have an idea on what month would be best weather during the off season?

I'm having the hardest time choosing a resort as well so if you have any suggestions that would be wonderful!

Kid friendly

no reservations for restaurants

beach wedding options

This is the greatest site EVER!!!

p.s.

Also need a TI

Well, end of August-November are not the most popular months due to all the hurricanes. :)

April-May are not the busiest either.

Other than that, Just avoid any holidays. Maybe get a calendar with holidays in each country because Mexico is popular destination with other countries as well.

Hope it helps!

should be an ok date as far as the weather. we are going with early November so that we don't get into the holiday craziness. while it's still technically hurricane season, it's pretty rate to get one in that area in November (though they did have one Oct 27th this year).

Hi Shay12,

The best months for coming to Riviera Maya are from late August to October, those are not very crowded months, the weather is the best, the days are longer so you'll have enough daylight for enjoying the beach, but the only cons is that is the hurricane season. but I think it is the best season for a wedding.

i would say May. next year i believe easter is end of march? and for about 2 weeks after hotels are charging high season prices. by end of april/beginning of may low season starts

i would avoid september-october as thats prime hurricane time. july or november would be a better bet. for me december is too close to christmas, so people want to be saving up for gifts/family time...and for the same reason january is a problem as people spend all their money at christmas

Our low seasons are very much linked to holidays down here.  The time between Easter (which varies each year) and when schools start letting out in June is probably our lowest season.  May can be quite hot but like Jessi mentioned Easter is very early next year so you can easily avoid the heat.  The next low of the year is right after school lets back in so basically September until the Thanksgivings (Canadian and American).  It is still hurricane season so many people do not want to risk coming down especially since this area is typically more hurricane active in the later half of the season.  But, if there are no storms, the weather is very pleasant during that time of the year (not as hot as peak summer).  Finally, we have a short low after US Thanksgiving and before Christmas.  Early December can be a nice time as it is still hot during the day but we get cooler nights and it is technically no longer hurricane season.

I hope that helps a little.  In the end, it's the tropics and you are getting married!!  Happy Planning!
