  2. Hi ladies,

Heres a yummy recipe for grilled artichokes. When I get chokes at work, I always get more than I really need for dinner so that I can have some left over chokes to use for this recipe:

**They get yummier the longer they marinate!

    Grilled Artichokes

(Recipe for 4 artichokes, 8 servings)

    4 size 24 or 30 artichokes

    ¼ cup balsamic vinegar

    2 T water

    ¼ cup soy sauce

    1 T minced ginger

    1 T minced garlic

    ½ cup olive oil

    1. Slice artichoke tops off crosswise to remove tips; discard. Trim stem.

    2. Boil or steam artichoke until bottoms pierce easily, or a petal pulls off easily.

    3. Drain artichokes. Cool. Cut each artichoke in half lengthwise and scrape out fuzzy center and any purple tipped petals.

    4. Combine remaining ingredients in bowl or large zip lock plastic bag. Mix well.

    5. Add artichokes to marinade. Marinade 5 to 10 minutes turning often.

    6. Place cut side down on a grill over a solid bed of medium coals or a gas grill on medium. Baste with remaining marinade. Grill until lightly browned on the cut side, 5 to 7 minutes.

    7. Turn artichokes over and drizzle remaining marinade onto them. Grill until petal tips are lightly charred, 3 to 4 minutes.

    8. May be served hot or cold with your favorite dipping sauce or mayo.

    Kash,

I am definitely following Natasha's suggestion of getting hemmed at barefoot length, otherwise it may be hard to walk on the beach if it's a bit longer (I seriously don't want to trip & fall!).
  5. Interesting juxtaposition going on here!!

Man(Ed) = all business, numbers, practicality

Women(US) = all feelings, what-if's, and all of the man stuff mixed in with recurring bouts of psychosis.

Nice! I wonder if we will ever see Ed post a vent about non-RSVPers or FMIL crap? Hehehe....

  6. Tammy - I know, there are so many cute/funny ones! I love the ones for bach parties. I'm trying to keep it classy since most of our guests are family members. FI's family is pretty traditional mexican, so I don't want to offend them or anything! What am I saying? Like a fricking koozie is the biggest thing I should be worried about when it comes to impressing his fam! Ha! How bout my foul mouth, my total insanity, etc etc??

  7. welcome1.gif Well, you've come to the right place!! There are tons of Cabo brides here, that have gotten married or are getting married at all types of venues from small boutique hotels to big all inclusives. There are a few that have gone the villa route and had positive experiences. Enjoy the site & let us know how we can help!

I added the website to the first post in this poll, but I also started a separate thread w/the info. The website is Personalized Koozies and Wedding Can Koozie Custom Coozie Wedding Favors.com

And, by the way, the clear LOSER at this point is the couple w/the palm tree. The other three are running neck & neck!!
  9. Well, first off, CONGRATS on choosing your dress! We want to see pictures!!!

I know I've seen millions of pics of beach brides w/the train out. I plan to do it, and I don't think you will need to worry about dragging piles of sand, unless for some reason your train is really heavy.

Regarding footwear, I plan to go barefoot for our ceremony on the beach & slip shoes on for the reception. If you have your dressed hemmed properly, you shouldn't have to worry about your footwear (or lack thereof) showing in the pics, unless you want it to.
