Father/Daughter and Mother/Son Dance

I've done a bit of searching and don't see a thread started yet for this topic.  We don't really want to separate out the dance for Father/Daughter and Mother/Son, we want to just do one dance together.  You think this is ok? I know we are breaking the tradition, do you think the parents would be upset by this?  We haven't mentioned it to them yet....

Does anyone have any ideas for songs would be good for this?  I've done a bit of searching and the only one I saw that I really like is My Wish by Rascal Flatts.

Any other ideas!!??

Thanks!!

I think this is a great idea.  I think the best way to do it is to maybe start with the bride/father since thats the one everyone wants to see anyway, then maybe the DJ invites the groom and mom, then maybe other members of the wedding party and their significant others?  This was groom and mom are still important "features" of the dance, but its not awkward with just two couples?

II have seen the father/daughter combined with the mother/son, and it is really nice. That is what we will do. Then the bride's mom dances with the groom's dad (and any other family like that could join if the family situation is not quite as simple as that). We really like it that way because it is really like the families are both joining together. Plus it saves on time!

I saw it to "What a Wonderful World", but I will probably be using that for the ceremony. Anything in that sentimentality would work well though.

How "fun" are you looking for? If you search Youtube there are TONS of ideas there. I have spent hours on there looking at one after another.
