how is this for guest wedding attire website wording?

Recommended Posts

hey, i am updating my website since some of my guests have asked me what to wear to my beach wedding.  with some research on here and personal edits, this is what i came up with.  does it sound ok?

We recently had some guests inquire about what to wear to a wedding on the beach, so here goes:

The wedding is "beach formal"

What does this mean? Basically, anything you'd wear to a nice restaurant on a summer day is appropriate.

Here are some suggestions:

He could wear: A light weight, short sleeve, button up shirt (no ties or jackets required), linen pants or khakis, and sandals.
(There are a couple of restaurants at the resort which require men to wear long pants as well).

She could wear: A summer sundress and flat sandals. Makeup and hair can be natural and everyday.

Basically we are having a no jeans/shorts affair.  Most important, we want you to be comfortable and enjoy yourselves!

That sounds good.  I got that question a LOT so it's a good idea to mention it.  I emphasized many times that the wedding is ON the beach so do not wear heels.  I had a relative that wore high heels and I felt bad for her but she was forewarned!  As long as people know what to expect, it should be fine.

Personally - I might not mention about the hair and makeup.  For my location it can be very windy so I made sure to let the ladies know that and encourage them not to wear a short & flowy dress as it could lead to a wardrobe malfunction.  And I hope that telling them about the wind will help them decide to wear hair up, but if not it is their choice.

Sounds perfect.  I am worried about shorts as well - so I think it is a great idea to specifically say they are not allowed.  Honestly I wouldn't care if people wore them, but I don't want them in my pictures!!  And it is really all about the pictures for me...
