Steel Band for Ceremony - Song Suggestions!

We're having a Steel Band perform during the ceremony and I'm so excited for it!!  The only song I have picked out is Canon in D by Pachebel for when I walk down the aisle/sand (so original, I know!).

 

Any suggestions for my bridesmaids (only 2)?  Before?  After?  I'm thinking of keeping it "calm" when everyone is escorted to their seats and having it pick up after the ceremony.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am getting married at The Grand Palladium in November! Which steel drum band did you go with? I have just started to get organized and am in search of a steel drum band. Have you thought of the song "your so cool" by Hans Zimmerman?  Tats a definite for me! and "The way you do the things you do"  Are you having a private reception?  I'm so excited I finally found someone else getting married at TGP!!

We're using the resort's steel drum band.  We decided on the tradional wedding songs for the ceremony and then just letting them play whatever before and after.

 

We're having a private reception as well.  If you search the site for Grand Palladium Jamaica, you will find multiple threads about the resort and other GP brides!  Have fun planning!

Sorry I can't help you with suggestions and I don't even know what country we are getting married in yet, lol. Do you mind letting me know how much the steel drum band cost? How many hours?

It's a little bit expensive... $500/hr.  Hence the reason I only booked them for 1 hour!

Has anyone gotten married and had the steel drum band?  I'm having a hard time justifying spending $400 dollars for an hour.  Just curious if you thought it was worth it or not?

Did you pick out your songs yet?  I finally convinced my finance to have the Steel Drum Band at the ceremony. So excited!  I just need to confirm with the resort. I know I want Canon in D but I'm at a loss for other suggestions.

Hey all...I was having the same debate until I found this link!  It doesn't have everything, but its got a decent variety and gives you and idea of what it would sound like on kettle drums!

 

 

We're hoping to use Pachabel's Cannon in D for the wedding party, the bridal march for me, can't help falling in love for the signing!
