I had the same exact problem because FI's parents asked that the wedding be on a 3 day weekend to make it easier for people, so we went with Memorial Day weekend (of 0cool.gif. It is right before hurricane season in Mexico, and the rates are WAY lower... we ended up getting the Occidental Xcaret for 125 per person per day. Hope this helps!

Good to know, thanks for the feedback!

The thought of Hurricane Season worries me a bit, so I looked it up and it says beginning of June to end of November is Hurricane Season. So that still leaves Memorial Day in first position. But, I wonder how Nov.'08 rates will compare to May of '09. The rates go up every year, but it sounds like generally May rates are cheaper than Nov., so maybe they will just balance out and end up being about the same?

Random: Can you imagine how many posts I will accumulate on here by May of '09?? rofl.gif

How far in advance do more people make their wedding reservation? Is that what you call it...a reservation? I just want to make sure I'm on track. The wedding will be a year from now. I picked out my date, I just want to make sure it will be available at the hotel.

 

What is the weather like in the cancun area in June? I thought the highs were in the high 80s. Maybe I just like it hot.

I believe the rates are higher roughly October-April or something like that.

June ave tep 84, ave high 89, ave low 78. Am I weird? Thats my favorite beach weather. Jamie, I see you are also from Texas. Most of my guest will be coming from Texas & will consider 89 degrees a nice break from the heat.

Haha, yeah. The only difference is it is a lot more muggy there!
