lisa,i knew the info about the room hire etc cause we have spoken about it.

my view on the cocktail hour is that they would provide this but if you wanted canapes that would be extra?

it is wrong about the cost of drinks but i suppose they will not give you extra staff to make you cocktails.is it a big thing for guests to go to the bar outside to get a different drink if they wanted one?i know its not ideal but they are on holiday its your wedding they will be in a good mood im sure they won,t mind.

try to chill you have good reason to feel the way you do but i think its also because its getting closer you feel a little more stressed.it will work out trust me.

So, I'm definitely also really irritated that they would charge us extra for drinks at an AI resort...especially since we're bringing such a large amount of people! This is one of the reason's I chose this resort, because they didn't do that (compared to some I found that did). I also only thought they charged you for the cocktail hour if you wanted food. If that's the case than I won't have one, and I'll just have everyone go hang out at the same place for an hour! Kind of ridiculous if that's the case! Glad to know I'm not the only one that wasn't aware of this!

Ael told us we can have a semi-private cocktail hour for free if we have it between 5:30 and 7:30. This would be my timeline if that was the case

1pm - Ceremony

5:30-7:30 - Cocktails

8:45-11:30 - private Reception

It just seems so strange to me that it would all be so seperate.

I have to talk it over with my fiance but we will probably end up paying for the private cocktail hr. ($540 for 60 guests, no food) then $1700 for the private reception and DJ, $300 to rent equipment for slide show (still need to bring your own laptop) and $540 for 60 guests to have drinks other then beer and wine. I wasn't expecting all these costs, just the $1700 so just a heads up to the other rprm brides.

I just think they should tell you things like this when you book.

is it too late to try and have your ceremony later?i know you had problems with your time.or is this important to you.i don,t think the cocktail time is too bad b4 your reception cause then it gives your guests an hour to have time out.it will go soo fast.

im feeling for you but just remember its nothing that cant be sorted.

Josie - I haven't asked about a welcome dinner because I don't think we are doing one. Let me know how it turns out though.

Shellk - I have asked to get a later time for our ceremony numerous times and they tell me I can't move it because they are booked but they will let me know if something later becomes avaliable.

JOSIE- from my understanding they can do a welcome dinner for free; you just have to ask for one. They block off a portion of the buffet restaurant for your party and the dinner is obvious buffet style. If you find out more about this, please let us know!

Ladies- I’m curious……with the recent posts re: extra fees, how much do you think having your wedding at the RPRM is REALLY costing?

alexis,

i am lucky because there is only 4 of us going so we don,t have many extras to pay for.i am thinking in total it will cost around £5500 for the wedding day + 2 weeks holiday.we only have extras for videographer+photographer.obviously there is everything like the dress, suit, rings etc etc on top of that.
