Researching a Destination Wedding

Hi everyone. My name is Michael and my fiance and I are researching destination weddings. We went to a travel agent and the options we saw were not cheap. I'll be on here every now and then asking some questions to try and get some answers.

We're still opened on a date and what not but so far here's what we're thinking:

Beaches Negril

welcome4.gif You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!!

BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process...a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen!

CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning heaven!

Congratulations and welcome3.gif to the forum!!

I totally hear where you are coming from regarding the costs. When you just look at the price, it can seem really high. But I did a ton of research, and compared the cost of an AI resort with a cruise as well as other non AI resorts, and once you factor in whats actually covered in the cost of an AI, it's really not that bad. It not only covers your room, but ALL of your food and ALL of your drinks - and this can add up very quickly, especially if your family likes to drink the way mine does, lol. And with Beaches, it also covers your transfers to and from the airport - and in this case, the ride from the airport to the resort is about 90 minutes and can easily be a $100 taxi ride without a tip - so figure at least another $200 - $250 for round trip transfers depending on how many people you are traveling with. And you also have so many activities included that not all resorts offer - not to mention a complimentary wedding. Do I sound like a Beaches commercial yet? lol. And it's also much cheaper than having a traditional wedding at home as well.

Good luck with all of your planning!!
