Hi Morgan,

No, one of my friends at work did our monogram. She is doing our Save-the-dates, invitations, brochures, seating chart and thank you's! She has really saved us a lot of time & stress!

We thought about going to the courthouse before we go to Mexico too! We are still kind of undecided. What day do you celebrate as your wedding day?

Did your guests know that you were already legally married when you arrived in Mexico? My FI is worried that some of our guests will feel left out if they find out we got legally married in the states before Mexico. We are going to do our best to not let them know either way. I just figured if they ask we can tell them that we had to do some paperwork in the U.S. as well and leave it at that.

Maybe we are worrying too much!?!

What are your thoughts?

i worried about telling people so I didn't at first. but, then I didn't like keeping it a secret. so i finally started saying we were "taking care of the paperwork" before we left. One of our guests brought it up in the van ride to coba. I was a little uncomfortable that the van full of guests would be like, "then why are we here" but no one seemed to care.

We had two witnesses come with us to the courthouse. My family is in a different state so it was easy to have it just be friends. I wore a short white dress. We went out for mexican food afterwards. I posted pictures on here something with "legal day" in the title.

I have another question for you girls. Are any of you having music after your wedding ceremony? We want to have a cocktail hour/music after our ceremony, so our guests can enjoy being on the beach and listening to music while we are getting our pictures taken.

Has anyone heard a good steel drum band? We thought that would be more festive compared to a Mariachi band (sp?).

I'd like your thoughts, thanks! smile78.gif

I was wondering the same thing! Lately I have been dealing with Demetrio over at the Catalonia so I was going to ask him. He has been extremely helpful getting me prices for the reception and some other things I have asked for.

I'll shoot him an email and see if I hear back from him!

Wow the catamaran idea is brilliant, I would never have thought of that. Shame itâ€s so expensive. We are just having a reception at the PCB.

As regards to videographer, we are using the same company for photos and video. They were recommended to me by a lady who previously married at the cat, I found her on Trip Advisor and have been chatting with her so I am only going on her opinion but she assured me they were great, here is the site

http://www.mexicanweddingphotos.com/

She also recommended the hair and makeup lady, she is very expensive but for me hair and makeup is very important, she has been a pleasure to talk to.

Doranna Hair Stylist - Freelance Italian Hair Stylist - Playa del Carmen - Riviera Maya - Cancun - Tulum

As far as I am aware the Cat has a hairdresser but no makeup artist

I'm sure you will get lots of different recommendations from this site so just go with who you feel comfortable with

Good Luck

Sally

Thanks so much for the info. I will definitely look into the hairdresser. Luckily I still have some time.

Ivan Luckie is doing our photos and doesn't offer video at all unfortunately. So, the search begins for one.

Thanks for your suggestions.
