Hi all I am a CR bride to be also July 10, 2010 at the Paradisus hotel working with DestinationWedding.com for the planning.

I have only sent my STD's so far and need to get moving on other things but i'm wondering how early are you sending the invites? I did the web page and put the link to US passports on it for those who don't have one. But not sure how early in advance I should send my invites any thoughts?

I am guessing right now 25-30 guest, my Travel agent was suprised and thought that to be a big group.

Can I get some feedback from ppl going through this also?

It seems to be the way to go for those who want a unique wedding in Costa Rica. They may be able to work out a way to have some of your guests stay at an AI and then come up to whereever you want for the wedding.
I think we may stay at the AI with the guests but have the wedding elsewhere, Prob use a local WC and vendors etc, ( where should I start looking for WP services in CR, any suggestions?)

We may end up staying longer as our honeymoon and use that time to explore the country

Most of the wedding planners you find on the net work all over CR. It would be a matter of who you click with. Some of the top outfits have toll free #'s you can call. Give them a jingle.
If you are having a beach wedding, I would suggest you head for the mountains or volcanoes for the honeymoon, mix it up! Definitely Arenal or Monteverde. I love Observatory Lodge in Arenal (great views) and/or El Establo in Monteverde. Let me know what places you are thinking about, would be glad to give you suggestions.

Don't want to sound cliche, Playa Conchal is one of the prettiest beaches in CR. I have seen very nice events done at the Reserva Conchal Beach Club (not a hall at all). Paradisus is going thru some problems with beach wedding but they are doing them on Flamingo Beach and them heading to the BClub. I just attended a beautiful wedding with an amazing view in Flamingo. Tropical Occasions organized the event, very dramatic backdrop. Another place is Casa de Las Tortugas or Marrakesh with the ceremony at the Langosta Point.

I'm actually trying to avoid a beach wedding, they are lovely but I chose Costa Rica for its beautiful Flora and Fauna. Its magnificent waterfalls and of course its geological wonders, aka the volcanoes.

I think I'm going to hunt down a TA, maybe a WC plan an awesome trip: jungles, parrots, monkeys, waterfalls, hanging bridges and just get married along the way.

now I have to figure out how to do that lol

* tho I may want to do a TTD at the beach

Hello Everyone!

We were thinking of doing a Jamaican wedding, but now that we're planning with a TA, we are considering CR as well. I got information on a few places there more towards Liberia. Has anyone been to the 4 Seasons in Papagaya or the Paradius Playa Conchel? Would love to read someone's reviews of these places.

Thanks!

My husband and I eloped in Mexico about 1.5 years ago and we are talking about getting married again with family and close friends. We love the outdoors and LOVE adventure. You have totally inspired me with your idea of a jungle tour and getting married along the way. I absolutely love it and am going to discuss it with my husband. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! If you do end up doing it, could you please write a review? I would be very interested to read it!
Happy planning!
