I am doing turquoise and white (or perhaps oasis (more tiffany color), but we do not have the BM dresses yet so who knows what we will discover! I noticed on another section of this site that the Grand Palladium wedding coordinator prints a menu if you eat at La Uva. That would be fabulous. I am not going to go crazy carrying all kinds of decor, but I think I will bring something turquoise, black and white for the tables. Pretty white fabric flowers maybe.. (I am all about the packaging and the decor... thats my thing!)

Anyhow, I am definately doing OOT bags with a mix of aloe, sunblock, tums (you never know) etc. I was also thinking of the Old Navy flip flops but it might be kinda hard to get all the sizes. I will probably have about 20 guests (hopefully more.. I am off to the mailbox now to see if I have any more replies!) Talk to you later ladies!!!

Dawn
Really!! That's neat. I live in the west island (Pierrefond to be exact) really is a small world. I have a few friends it Chatz so I know the area well. Do you like Ottowa? must be a little different size wise.

Thaks so some of your ideas of the OOT bag. I got first aid kit, lipchap with spf,fan (all of which I can get at the dollar store)
I'm not the decro type. I suck at things like that. So I'm truly hoping Carolina will come threw for me with Decro. I will bring a couple of vases for the center of the dinner tables filled with sand and shells. Then across the table put tea lite candles. I see on the package I can get a center piece flower for $65 US not to sure it's it worth it. I'll see the pic when I get there and decide then. That would be for the head table. Someone on here showed pics. You get a head table for you the husband, Bridesmaid and parents. then the rest of the guest sit at another long table.
I was thinking of the flip flops too but the size can be an issues. I was thinking of waiting to see how many ppl are coming and maybe call for sizes. I gave everyone until Oct 1st to reply my RSVP so I still have a little more then a month to get the exact #.

Just received 2 no shows for the wedding... oh well.. I knew that would be the case with some people anyhow. I think I mentioned that we are also having a June Celebration here in Ottawa next year so I think a lot of friends will be coming to that. I am going to look around Michaels next week some time for OOT bags... I am leaning towards those straw type totes. They look tropical. Then I can do hangtags and a message inside too. You are right... the Dollar store will be a good place for a lot of items. I might add some type of turquoise fabric flower to the OOT bag so I should look at the $ store for that too.

Its so much fun to look into all of this stuff. This is certainly keeping me busy. I have to go change now because my honey and I are going to Montreal tonight (Hudson actually)He has a course and I am staying at a friends place. Talk to you when I get back! Maybe I can mosey around some stores (Fairview) and get some ideas. Will keep you posted!

Are these bags your taking about big?

well have fun in Montreal. And enjoy Fairview! :)

We are doing the same, having a cocktail reception when we come back in July for the family and friends who couldn't come. They all still want to see me in my dress. But it wont be anything fancy hardly any decro. Just simple and fun. Will you be going all out for your at home reception?

dawn - does carolina definitely have turqoise chair bows? when i em'd her, she only told me the c olors were "dark green, gold, and brown", but that I could rent any color for $3/ bow? I'd be fine with using turqoise bows, saves me from buying one more thing.

caribbean lover - if you end up getting centerpieces, can you pm me a photo? i'd love to maybe "borrow" your vases & shells so that I wouldn't have to bring vases down with me as well! I could ship everything back to you, or we could definitely figure something out!

miss di, welcome!! i forget the exact #, but i think there are at least 3 or 4 of you now getting married on the 24th! how cool!

cruisebride, i think you'll find everyone has had a different experience getting guests to book... it's definitely a lesson in patience and persistence! my folks are paying for the whole family to go, so all most of my guests have to do is call our TA and give her their names, and some people are still procrastinating on THAT! and when in doubt, the ladies on here have come up with some great ways to encourage their guests to get their butts in gear!

Answer is FOREVER! I learned that I had to push people to start booking, if I hadn't no one would be booked.

Erin- That sucks to hear about your car and your missing items. At least it wasn't stolen right? I remember my first car, I only had it for three weeks and one morning it vanished.

Michele- How was your job interview??

Welcome to all the new April brides!! smile03.gif

Sorry for such a quick reply but I gotta run and tie up some lose ends at work before I get out of here...

sperger,

If I can get my hands on a picture of the center piece, I'll def hand it over to you.But I'll probably stick to my ideas of the vase.

I have no problems at all lending them to you. Actually We are doing 10 days as it stands, so you wont have to waste money on shipping anything I'll still be there after your wedding. We can def arrange a meeting when we get there have a drink (I'll buy) lol wink.gif
