Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

sorry I haven't been on in a long time ladies; busy w/ school, AHR, and now thank you notes! Lots of them.

I do have a question for past brides that had the legal ceremony: how long did you have to wait for the english translation of your marriage license? In MN, they won't let me change my name until I have the English version. Since I am pretty sure I have already paid for this through the wedding package, I don't want to pay again here and then receive it in the mail. Please advise. Thanks ladies

Hi Ladies!!

I have not been on in a long time!!

Wow i leave in 20 days!!! I am soo excited. rain or Shine! Hopefully shine!

Our count went from 40-75 and is still growing!! :) sad.gif lol

Anyways, here is the question of the century! I have some major drinkers and major 'rich folk' lol...Is there an option for top shelf liquor at all?

i.e. Grey Goose, Don Julio Tequile, Patron tequila, Cognac, ANYTHING Top Shelf? Even if you are willing to pay for it? If there isnt...Where is the closes liquor store and are you even allowed to bring outside alcohol inside the resort??

I am sure we will run through abouttttt 10 fifths of Top Shelf tequila (yes they drink that heavy)..lol

Thanks

Adrienne

They do have liquor you can buy. But everyone in my group was happy with what they had. There is a liqour store within walking distance. We went there a couple times. They have other stuff like medicine and gifts. We didn't have a problem taking our Tequila back into the hotel. We took it home with us. They never checked our bags or anything.

Hello! I am still considering several resorts around Cancun and was wondering if anyone knows what the beaches are like at Dreams? I know it has several, but are they any that have waves w/ minimal rocks? From the pictures they all seemed to be more like a lagoon.

Well we leave in 3 days also. No worries about the weather as we have been to Cancun so many times and it always for rain, and if it did it only cooled things off a bit but never brought a damper to our party. If it rains we go inside and share even more memories with our friends and family. We were supposed to get married on May 2nd at Dreams and the swine flu got in our way. Nothing can get in our way this time. Wedding is July 31st at 4 or 5 cant remember right now cause i am so excited.

Can any brides offer any insight into negotiating some things with Claudia. We have not spoken to her since we rescheduled and just want to try and trade some things that come with our package for others. From other reviews we are not gonna stress at all and just sort some things out with the WC when we get there.

thanks, I never been to Cancun, it does stress me out on the rain situation... sigh!!

It seems like they are a bit harder to negotiating on email now, try to work with them in person might get you better results. Good luck!

We have not negotiated anything yet via email, i think it will all be done on Wednesday when we get there. Also we have already been to Dreams and Claudia has a good contingency plan for rain, no gazeebo but no getting wet. Look at it this way, a little rain is good luck right. It will be perfect because that is how it was supposed to be rain or shine.

Any brides get some things in exchange for others, like no videographer for chair bows etc etc.

I would be really upset if I can't marry at the gazebo...

I exchanged my photography for sound system at the ceremony.
