MrsGin09 - I was wondering the same thing about the $$ limit. We packed the bags into a suitcase and printed out a piece of paper explaining how many bags, the items in each bag, and what the cost was per item. Hopefully that will work...

Also, I was reviewing my music tonight and just realized that they asked for 2songs for the end of the ceremony - 1 for announcing Mr. & Mrs. and another for walking back down the aisle. I'm totally stuck! We're actullay doing traditional songs for the ceremony, but I have NO idea what song to play when they announce us?? Isn't it usually all together? So confused! Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks girls! :)

Hey Ladies! We're finally back from our Honeymoon and boy....am I having trouble readjusting! LOL! Doris did my hair as well...she was amazing.

For receipts, customs was pretty much a breeze for us. Just keep things to smaller totals and they won't care. For mine, they didn't even open any of my four bags. They just checked my receipts, and told me I didn't even need receipts for stuff like the tylenol and other drugs I got for my hangover kits. However, they did open one of my fiance's...ahem...husband's...bags. They checked EVERY single of the 30 maracas we brought for drugs. LOL. Shook every single one.

Eureaka, I only brought five songs - I thought they were going to be prelude, processional, bridal entrance, paper signing, and recessional. When I got there, I was told I needed processional, bridal entrance, paper signing, announcement/champange toast, and recessional. I just had them replay the prelude song. It was fine. I had told Claudia I wanted the champagne toast during the cocktail hour, but whatever. I'm not sure if they even played a prelude song - I forgot to ask!

One thing for future brides: MAKE SURE you designate someone to collect all of your items from the gazebo. We thought we'd be able to go back up after pictures and grab our stuff, and it was gone. Half of it never turned back up, including our custom ring bowl. PISSED!

Nina, Welcome back to the real world. I made my entrance last week and it has felt strange. I hope the rest of your week went well.

Sorry to hear about your stuff!! Our WC (Kelena) was very meticulous in gathering all our stuff up and taking it to her office. We picked up everything from her when we picked up our photos/DVD. You may want to try and email the wedding office, your WC, if you haven't already.

Eureaka and Mrs. Gin! It is your week this week! Enjoy every moment of it! You will love the resort!

I am going to be posting my review today. Look for it later this morning.

My mom just found it today and sent me this picture! I love it...she is having it engraved with our initials and wedding date after we get back from Mexico.

We will be using white sand at the bottom (poured by our mothers), the scott and I will pour red and black (our colors).

My favorite part is that it comes with a stopper so transporting it back into the U.S. won't be as difficult!! YAY!

We also have a paragraph for the judge to read while we pour it...

I'll paste that once it's typed up!

Let me know what y'all think!!

Hi Sharla, the sand ceremony set is beautiful. Can you give me the link where your mom found it?

Hey Honey, nibsmom! Glad you guys are all back, sounds like you all had a blast!!! cheesy.gif

I still have to make receipts for all my stuff. I wasn't really sweating it at first, but now I guess I should... : /

My computer of course crashed last week, which means it took down all my wedding playlists (Ceremony, Cocktail hour AND Reception) that I had spent so much time on, AS WELL AS our ceremony wording, which I had just finished and was about to send to Kalena. With a week to go, I'm just trying not to think about it too much right now. : (

Question: did any of you guys bring your own appliances, like dryers/curling irons? I'm doing my own hair, (Actually my Mom is) and I was wondering if you needed a converter of some type at all (Tina I vaguely rememer you mentioning something like that)...

Also Tina, on the trips, I'm glad you were able to go to the ruins because they had told me all of those excursions had been cancelled about a month ago, and that MAYBE they would be back up and running by the time our week rolled around. Hopefully we'll have time now for Chichen-Itza!

Honey, you look sooo pretty in your picture! Can't wait to see the rest!!! :)

Also, (last one I swear) did you guys get a free mani/pedi at the spa? They promised that to all of our guests when they booked so I just wanted to make sure.

Eureaka and Mrs. Gin, HAVE FUN!!! :)

pyxystyx- everyone gets a $100 spa credit, but people should book appts before they get down there to make sure there is time, the appts fill up fast. Also, no converters needed, everything plugs in fine :-)

Chichen-Itza is SOO hot right now, you may want to consider Tulum. We also went on the kitchen tour and isla mujeres. When we went to Isla Mujeres, we took a cab downtown for $4, rented a golf cart for $10/hr and tooled around taking pictures and stopping at the turtle farm, and Garrafon, we had a blast. I HIGHLY recommend doing that instead of the palace off-shoot excursions once you get there.

We were told that the currents for appliances was different their than in the US. The only thing we had were chargers (for laptop, phones, battery, docking station). All chargers are rated for 110 - 220 so they were ok. We didn't have any plug in things.

There were a couple that were still closed when we were there. I really wanted to see Cabo but it was still closed.

Also, if you go on the tours, I would highly recommend taking a small rain poncho and umbrella....... the umbrella, not so much for rain but to give you shade in the sun. Several people on our tours had umbrellas and it was amazingly cooler under the umbrella. Chichen Itza is in the jungle so they get showers almost daily from what we heard.
