MOD's I don't know if you want to update this or not in the title since this post is an update. He wants his name removed from my post. I don't believe I have done anything illegal since I have not posted any false statements, simply his own words.

***To be fair to him (not that I feel it makes him look any better) this was his reply to me:

Stephanie,

Sorry I came off rude to you! The market is tight and I am getting over shopped. We should have talked instead of email. Things always get lost in translation/ interpretation when written. It was very unprofessional of you to copy and past my email and put it on a forum and link it to my business name.

One, it is not appropriate for me to devalue the market with doing events cheap or inexpensive it hurts the entire industry. Two, I photograph all walks of life, tall, skinny, same sex marriages, black, white and make them all look beautiful on their day. You were asking for best deal offers and bargain shopping. I am honest and up front. If I was to take the job for dirt cheap I had some requirements for portfolio building. This is not my desire to need a client to have a certain build and look. It is an unfortunate part of society that certain individuals generate interest ( why we have an industry called modeling ) and I was honest in letting you know that I was looking for a particular individual. For $k I can't loose 3 peak days of business. That is still too cheap to take on the job as a standard client.

Best of luck with your wedding and future. Please take a breath and ask the individual that you have conflict with before slandering them. I would be very careful with the legality of what you just did and so bravely staked claim to!

Bryce

***I responded to this reply last night with the following:

Bryce,

First off, I asked what you would charge me if I paid for travel, I never asked you to perform services for a certain price. You are the only photographer that had an issue with naming a price you felt comfortable with, nobody else felt the need to inquire about my looks or if I was having a "cheap" wedding. Second, I work for about 20 attorneys. I have not done anything slanderous to you as to slander is to speak falsely about another person, what you are accusing me of is libel. To be guilty of libel you have to print false statements about someone. I simply quoted the exact words you sent to me, and none of the statements were taken out of context, thus not false and not libel.

As for the explanation you gave. It is not needed, the damage you have done to me is already there. Most women would like to see examples of wedding photos containing real women like themselves, not models. Regardless of your reasons you still crossed the line in the manner you choose to express yourself.

I would be happy to quote your further explanation if you think that would help, but since I did not take anything out of context I'm sure my fellow brides will still be as upset as I am by the disturbing questions you presented to me. Please choose your words more carefully in the future, I would hate to see another bride subjected to the same distress.

Please do not contact me again.

Stephanie

What a tool!! I posted in the other thread you mentioned it in and like I said, he won't be in business for long if he keeps up that attitude.

I'd quit talking to him and block his email so you don't have to deal with his narcissism any longer.

I guess he will photograph all sorts of people, but won't clutter his gallery with the uglies.

WOW. I just read all of this....I can't believe he would have the nerve to ask you those things. What....less attractive people can't get married. Everybody finds that special somebody that meshes well with them. So what if you're a little heavy or have a bigger nose or whatever it is....everybody has the right to have the best day of their life photographed. I love your responses back to him and give you a ***WHOOT WHOOT***

Good luck on your search for finding that perfect photographer for you!
