I am really sorry to hear that not everyone had the same experience as we did. I am wondering if the size of the wedding increases the possibility of issues? We were only 13 (including a 1 year old baby) and our 2 photographers (as a side note - I'm sad to see that there is a change in the 2010 guide RE:outside photographers, we LOVED them!)...
I'll do my best to write my review ASAP!!!

Congratulations! Please do try to post your review soon (even if without pictures) there are a lot of nervous brides based on the 2 most recent reviews and I'm sure future brides would love to hear about your experience.

On another note, I had a bride ask me about the photography policy so I thought I would post exactly what I saw:

Page 11

"Guests are required to use our on-site photographer/videographer. Samples
of their work can be accessed by contacting weddings@ilgruppodigitale.
com. Guests must inform wedding coordinator if they choose to bring
their own photographer/videographer an additional fee will apply."

Her 2010 guide had slightly different wording, so it sounds like this might be a slightly newer and revised document.

In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't really true, and all they are trying to do is encourage the use of their photographer and the only cost is the day pass which means nothing has changed. But anyone planning on using an outside photographer should ask about the cost of the day pass. I assume photographers that are guests of the resort are no problem.

Congratulations Chanti!! Can't wait to read your review.

I have a stupid question...do the tables for the reception come standard with white linens or do we actually need to pay for them? FI just asked me about it and it got me thinking

Also, are only hor d’oeuvres and champagne included in the cocktail hour? I would definitely want more than champagne to be served but don't want to pay extra for it.

Thanks!

White linens are standard, and included. If you want any colored linens, those are extra.

When we got to our cocktail hour, there were bottles of champagne set up, so it seemed to be champagne only. However, there was one waiter who brought a few of our guests other drinks when they were requested. I don't know if any of any other guests asked for anything else, though. No waiters asked me if I wanted anything else, so I just assumed it was champagne only. This is a great question.

Jerzygirl85 thanks for raising this question, starlitk based on your recent experience his is possibly something else thats changed recently.

Pretty sure I remember past brides saying they had chosen a number of drinks to be served at their cocktail hour (including corona and cocktails from the regular bar menu) and others also had been allowed to serve a signature cocktail in their chosen wedding colours for which they had supplied the WC with a recipe at their planning meeting.

Sorry but I cant remember who said this but I know I've read it several times.

Please post when you get a definite answer cos if its champagne only i'm gonna drop it from my package and just get people to go to the nearest bar. None of us are big champagne drinkers so its not worth the extra $$$

Yes many brides have had other drinks at their cocktail hour, in particular a signature drink. Perhaps if you don't ask, then it's just champagne? Just specify at your meeting what you want. But also if you are near a bar (lobby, beach, restaurant) then your brides can also just order anything from the bar as part of the all-inclusive.

I looked at the 2009 guide---supposed to be open car for that hour---I am definitely going to make sure this is done---otherwise it isn't worth it.
