Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the new Paradisus girls!! How exciting!! Glad to have you all on board!

RCBlondie...don't stress...Perla took 2.5 weeks to get back to me on my date...and I was about 12 months out when I contacted her. I'm sure you'll get your date!

Lauren..HOW EXCITING!! So close! Glad to hear that Perla is responding faster. I haven't contacted her in over a month I figured I'd give her time to focus on the upcoming weddings!!

Man I gotta get on it...less than six months left! Crazy how fast time goes!

Got a reply from Perla today, this is what she said

"Dear Rachelle,

I review all my e-mails and I'm sure I answered you since I don't have anything waiting... I was not able to answer you soon, because I´m on a bussines trip and it has being a ittle bit difficult to get internet access. Please find my A to your Q on the same paragraph!

Perla"

I know she must be busy but I know for sure she did not answer. Ah well, at least she answered and very in-depth as well.

Thanks for the suggestion for future email headings.

If I tell her what we are looking for will she recommend the best package or should I go through the package prices and try to figure it out myself? She has asked our budget but it is kind of hard because I do not know what to say, not sure what the individual prices would be.

As for the sound system, she mentioned for me to contact an outside vendor. We are just looking for an iPod docking system to play music and such. Did anyone else have to pay fees for that?

I've emailed DJMannia for a quote. I thought I was a simple kind of bride, but I just saw a picture of their lighted dance floor, and it looks so cool! Uh oh!

Also, I'm looking for suggestions for photographers. I am trying to decide whether to use one from there, or fly one in. I want most of my pictures to be candid, so I need someone who is good at being unseen so they can get some great shots. I will still get the standard pics of us with certain family members, but I don't want to spend two hours taking posed pics of us with our wedding party. Any recommendations for a photog who takes great candids?

Also, how long did you have your photog there for? I am thinking I want someone from when I am getting dressed through to at least the start of the dancing.

And one more question, how many of you did a video of the ceremony and who did you use for that? How did it turn out? Ahh! So many questions. Now that my day is booked and I've almost got things arranged for the price, I am getting so excited. I don't think I've slept well in 3 weeks now. Can you imagine when I actually get close to the dayhuh.gif
You will love Carlos. We didn't have the lighted floor, but the pictures do look so amazing!

As far as photogs, we brought ours down - Nathaniel Thomspon - and I LOOOOOOOOOVE him! Can't say enough. Really. If you decide to bring someone with you, talk to Nathaniel.

And for time - I think you will probably want someone there to take some photos of the dancing as well - we love the photos from the party. Not necessarily until the bitter end, but at least for the first hour or so. Of course, we had Nathaniel to the bitter end, which meant he got photos of us getting in the pool at midnight.

Good luck!

That light-up dance floor looks so cool! Sadly, it was out of our budget.

Elizabeth Medina was my photog. It was a blast and I get teasers/pics next week! Del Sol Photography is also very talented and popular :) Both are based in Mexico. Good luck!

We also took a photographer with us for the week (Visual Cravings) so we had pics prettty much the entire day. We didn't go the videographer route.

Perla is great at responding as you get closer to your date so don't stress - I sometimes forgot that she had 5 weddings each week..

Hi girls! I am still undecided on a resort, but was wondering if anyone had any pictures from a wedding not done on the beach? I have seen the pics on the PRC website and the gazebo over the pool seems far from where the guests sit. Maybe this is only how it appears in pictures so I would love to see some more! Thanks!

Welcome! I don't have any pics of this set-up but there was a wedding there when I was at the Paradisus for a week. I don't think it's a popular choice for a couple of reasons. First, it's in the middle of the pool so every other guest at the hotel can watch and there isn't a lot of privacy. Second, it really doesn't suit having more than a handful of guests as the guests actually sit on the bridge leading up to the gaazebo. I hope that helps!

The Paradisus is great for so many reasons - what I would suggest is to pour yourself a big glass of wine - and read through the pages of this thread. Many questions will be answered about why, the beach, costs.
