DJ- # of hours

I tried searcing the forum but I couldn't find any information on how many hours of DJ service brides were or have used. I'm gettting ready to finalize my contract with DJ Mijares and I'm trying to determine how many hours to hire him for. I would love some feedback.

I am having live music for the ceremony from 4-5:30, the DJ at the reception locations from 5:30 to 10:30. This way he will be able play music during dinner, MC our entrance, we can do the first dance before dinner. etc.

I'm going to have my DJ for 5 1/2 hours. My wedding is at 3pm and the reception starts at 5pm. We are planning to wrap up the reception at 10:30. Hope this helps :-)

I think Ana mentioned that her reception lasted to 11:30pm. Do you know what the cut off time is for Dreams?

I think Dreams requires the receptions outside to end at 10:30pm, but i know Ana and many of her guests then went to the club desires in Dreams until about midnight.

Do you know if the hotel allows all wedding guests to go to the club or only Dreams guests?

Jess - that's crazy. Why would he have to leave at 9:30? He can't possibly have another event that night, can he?!

Yes, he actually has a wedding to do for a really close friend so he was going to send his assistant but I wasn't too excited about that. He said that he would be able to come but only until 9:30pm. I didn't ask him if his assistant could DJ for another hour. I guess there is no harm in asking but he can't then I guess 9:30 it will be. Maybe I will bring the fire dancers to keep the party going. I'm not sure.
