Anyone get pregnant before their wedding?

DH and I TTC right now stork-baby.gifand hope it will happen within 1-3 months. Has anyone ever done this? Our renenwal is going to happen in November 2010 (no actual day yet, LOL) and I figure it would give be a good 5-7 months to get back into shape. I work well under pressure so I know I'd be in fighting shape by the time I walk down the sand. Any tips? Advice? Smack upside the head? I can take it! jiggy.gif

Oh God, My only tip is to try to get enough sleep. I see you already have a little one, adding another one to that mix will be all the help you need. They will keep you hopping and running! After I had my kids I ended up losing 55 lbs.! I did nothing different, I just had to kids to entertain and run after and serve! LOL. They did for me what I couldn't do for myself! Kids are great to help you oose weight, and with the nice weather here it will be easier. Take them to the park, for a hike, swimming. Take them anywhere or stay at home but get involved with them. They will wear you down and suck all of those extra calories and pounds off you!!! GOD BLESS THE CHILDREN, (especially when they are sleeping and you know you see an angel!)

I love to sleep!!!! Ah the sweet joy of sleep, LOL!!! Congrats on losing the weight, that's great!!! I am not the most traditional person so I figured with 5-7 months to lose the weight, I'll be okay and to do my darndest to avoid cravings. smile78.gif smile29.gif

well if you are already married and have kids and just having a renewal i am sure none of your guests would be surprised if you added a new family member - theoretically you could just wait to set the date and see when you pregnant.

We're getting married in 18 days and we stopped the birth control pill last week!

Yes, maybe that's crazy and I'll end up with my period on our wedding day, but I'm willing to take that chance. We had decided that we would start trying right after the wedding. Then we thought: wouldn't it be cool if we succeeded in conceiving during our honeymoon? We'll see what happens!

Good luck to you!!!

Chantal

The only advice I would have is to those thinking about getting preggo within a few months of your wedding. I was really wanting to try in January right before our February wedding. I ended up getting pregnant in February and felt like sh*t from weeks 5-14. I can't imagine feeling that way on my wedding trip! I had so many problems with food it would have been really difficult.

I would like to get pregnant within the next 3 months so that I have time to shed some of the weight. muscle.gif

Thanks for the good advice. Keep your fingers crossed for me for the next three months. I would think one sperm out of millions could his way to the egg? I wish they had sperm GPS. smile29.gif

  • 1 month later...

I had a baby three months ago and will be getting married in September when he's 5 months. I've lost all my baby weight but my body isn't the same shape. I'm breastfeeding so they're bigger right now. I agree with the pp about sleep. I also try to do a least a little exercize everyday.

Dave and I aren't actively trying, but we're not not trying either. He has low sperm count so the odds are not in the favor of us having children w/o IVF, so if it happens, we'll be thrilled. I don't even care if I'm pregnant on the actual wedding day :)
