leg waxing

Recommended Posts

So I'm getting my legs professionally waxed OUCH!! censored.gifthis afternoon for the first time. I've done it at home a couple of times with my cousin but I figured I should get them done by a professional.

I decided only to go with the 1/2 leg for now as I don't have too much hair on the upper part of my leg. I've never had a bikini wax or a brazillian, but I'll definitely be discussing that with her today. I wanted to do a trial run before my actual wedding to see if everything goes well. I still have like 7 months till the wedding, but I figured it's summertime now, let's lose the hair! lol

Anyway, I'm so super excited to get this done and was happy that I could get an appointment this afternoon when I called early today.

Do any of you get your legs professionally waxed all the time? or just for the wedding?

I haven't touched a razor in 5 years, all I do is wax. It's so worth it, but I have to admit, in the beginning when the hair is still thick and course, its pretty hard to let it grow out. Make sure you take a couple ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment!

Damn, I don't have any ibuprofen with me today. Oh well, I'll tough it out. It can't be any worse than getting tattoos!

I'm not a huge shaver in the winter, it annoys me to shave lol so I don't mind the growth. That's why I'm doing it now before summer really starts and I have been able to let the hair grow (still wearing pants!)

Megan - I'll definitely let you know how it goes and how long it lasts!!

Do you do it on your own or by a professional? Do you find that your hair is less coarse now or that you have less than before you started waxing?

Has anyone used a numbing cream beforehand? My daughter had a big wart removed on the side of her toe, and I had a presciption for some cream that I had to put on 1 hour beforehand. I guess it worked because she barely flinched.

I had laser hair removal on the back of my neck....ouch ouch ouch!! Feels like electric shocks. I guess there is no painless way to get around hair!

Both, I'm an aesthetician and I wax myself. It's way less course now than when I started. For a couple years, I would wax most of the time, and shave now and again. When I was doing that, I didn't really see a change in the way the hair grew. I started noticing it after about 6 months of only waxing.

I've tried 'No Scream Cream' and I didn't really notice that it helped with the smarting as much a popping a few pills. The prescription cream would probably be the best bet for a noticable difference.
