You can get around paying the outside photo fee if your photog is a guest. My aunt is a pro photog, so she is staying as a guest and we dont have to pay a fee. Just another option.

For the legal civil ceremony's performed by a judge it will be in english not spanish anymore (so no-one will be translating). And you can write your own vows or repeat after the judges. You can have a unity candle and music playing and you can have people do readings (as long as you keep them short). The ceremony is usually 20 minutes.

Just thought it was some useful stuff to know since the wedding package document says you can't do any of this for the civil legal ceremony! They changed there rules!!!
What did you end up doing for your ceremony? Did you write your own vows or have readers?

Thanks,
Noel

I, personally, would do anything possible to AVOID using the resort photographers. Most of the work I have seen my them is bad (to say the least). I don't mean to offend anyone who might have used them but I want to be sure to give my honest opinion.

I researched reviews on them before we left and I read HORRIBLE reviews. I guess they don't even direct you as to where to go for good shots/good positions, and the people who shoot the pics are not even 'professionals' they are just random workers with cameras! These are your WEDDING photos- not just some vacation shots- I would say do anything to make them the best!

We had my aunt take them- she is a professional and was also a guest so we didn't have to pay the $300 fee.

User beware- in my humble opinion!

Here is a link to my pics if anyone would like to request to be a 'member' of my page: http://mushrosinmexico.shutterfly.com/

I totally agree~! I did my research and saw many people's pics that were absolutely horrible with the resort photog! We are talking cheesy poses (hello motorboat!? WTF!) , no creativity, etc. Even their website is awful!

Sorry to sound harsh...but we refused to use this service! From the pics we saw, It was substandard! IMO they need a new on site photographer. Maybe they have improved since the pics I saw....but if they haven't, then buyer beware!

Trevess, We are using my Aunt too, a pro photog. How funny! We are so lucky, huh? Very cool!

Any suggestions on Photographers to use?

There's a great list of photographers in the area if you search the forum. I went with Sascha Gluck and was very happy with him and how the pics turned out. Here are a few popular photogs:

Elizabeth Medina
Cecilia Dumas
Del Sol (Sol Tamargo)
