Not sure how to handle OOT's or Favors, etc.

Recommended Posts

My question is (and I really hope I'm posting this in the right area), we are probably having about 50 -60 ppl attend. I really can't afford Welcome Bags for everyone. Besides that all of our guests will be staying in many different hotels/resorts. Do I just purchase a wedding favor for everyone and present them at the reception? I'm not sure how to handle this. Any suggestions are appreciated!! Thanks in advance!! feedback.gif

I don't think you have to have welcome bags. It's nice, but not necessary. It sounds like not having OOT bags will make your life easier too since your guest will be all over the place. Wedding favors at the reception would be great and will be much appreciated. Good Luck!

Honestly I don't think favors or an OOT bag are REQUIRED but I do think it's a nice gesture considering your guests are traveling so far to attend the wedding. If it's not in your budget I seriously wouldn't worry about it!

If you can include it in the budget I think having one bag per room is acceptable...that should cut down on costs. Having your guests scattered in different resorts definitely makes it more complicated so it sounds like providing favors at the reception might be the way to go!

I also think you do not have to do welcome bags our guests really did not expect them. For a favor you can buy maracas when you get to Mexico we were able to get them pretty cheap then we added name/table number tags to them. The guests had a blast with them.

I love that idea!! Even if I don't use them for favors, I like the idea of implementing them into the reception. Plus we can just buy them there.

Thank you all for your input. I was getting worried that everyone would expect a welcome bag, but I think favors at the reception is the way to go. I also like the suggestion of doing one per room.

Thank you, thank you thank you!!

  • 2 weeks later...

march132010 where did you find luggage tags and passport covers? Are they personalized?

Im doing OOT boxes, should I still be handing out favors as well? I was thinking about throwing personalized t-shirts with our theme and/or shot glasses in every OOT box for each person!

any opinions?

We too are on the budget conscious and I want to include OOT Bags for everyone, but it might be too expenisve. What I've thought of for favors are doing the Passport Covers and sending them ahead of time with our invitations and including the luggage tags and placing them into cute bank style bags so that the guests can keep their reservation info, plane tickets, confirmation info, passports all together (and for the bags we're doing one per family/single guest). Something else if you don't do favors or OOT Bags which we will pass out to each family at our Welcome Dessert Party the night before we set sail is write a hand written thank you note and make a folder of the itinnerary/events for the cruise. Your guests might appreciate that too.

We too are trying to be budget concious, so I know exactly what you mean.
