Help! Majestic Colonial or Elegance what's the difference?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

My best friend wants to get married at either the Majestic Colonial or the Elegance. I know the Elegance is rated a 5.5 star and the Colonial is a 5 star, but what is the real difference? The Elegance is much more expensive but we want to know if it's worth the extra money. They both look so similar. Can anyone comment on what the major differences are?

We would greatly appreciate your help!!!

well I think it depends on when you are going what the price difference is. I was looking in October 2009 and it was only $200 more than the colonial. At the same time, other people have said that the Elegance was actually cheaper.... so I think it truly depends on the dates you are going.

I am not sure the major differences but I know that the are next to each other and seemed pretty similar. They share the same beach ceremony set up/location. I believe someone mentioned that the 2 restaurants near the beach are similar at both places. hope it helps some! Personally, I wish there was a comparison chart lol it'd be so much easier!

There isn't much of a difference between the two. The Elegance was just built this past year so the rooms and facilities are newer. The rooms have a different layout, the Elegance has a more open concept for the entire room while the Colonial is divided in two by the jacuzzi in the middle.

The restaurants at the Elegance I believe are better then the Colonial and have better decor, especially the steak house. The restaurants on the beach are basically the same.

At the moment they share the same spa, casino and sports bar.

The Elegance has which is called the 'Elegance Club' which is an upgraded service that gives you an adults only area, a lounge with free internet and snacks, big outside beds, and a personal butler. The Colonial doesn't have anything similar to this.

Price definitely depends on timing, eventually the Elegance will be more expensive all the time but right now it fluctuates a lot.

Thank you so much! She is looking to go in May 2010. So far the quotes we received list the Elegance at a few hundred dollars more than the Colonial. So the Colonial is the obvious choice. We just wanted to make sure that if she chose the Colonial she wouldn't be sacrificing quality or elegance :)

Thanks again!

If you were getting married at one which one would you pick? Just curious :)
