JOSIE-your ring is spectacular!!! I love it! Beautiful! My favorite type of ring is the antique look. My ring is the same way. We are going to have to get a custom band if I end up getting one. I still haven't decided if I want one or not. I agree with the other girls, if you want a band just have one custom made. Tell your FI he did a good job!

We didn't want to spend the money to get a custom ring for my e-ring (not right now anyway!) So I wear my ering on my right hand & my band on my left. You could also do vice versa! I say get a second ring (but that's only because I love the bling!!) My band is sapphires & diamonds so when/if I get a fitted band to my e-ring I will have a really nice ring to wear still!!

But it's completely up to you!! If you don't want a wedding band, what about a wedding bangle?? You could still exchange it during the ceremony! It's a little unconventional...but it's your wedding & you can do what you want!! lol
Oh...your ring really is beautiful!!
Ditto !

I love my e-ring - and all the love that it represents from my husband, I know he spent a LOT of time finding the prefect rign for me. I also got a band that I really LOVE and I never take it off. I wear my e-ring a my right hand and my band on the left. Like that both hands are happy and I'm happy with both my gorgeous rings wink.gif

I don't think mine will fit together either and I don't like the look of an oddly shaped wedding band (just to fit around the e-ring) so I will probably just pick out a separate band that I like and not necessarily wear them together?

I'm not sure what your profession is, but I'm going to be a pharmacist and would be more comfortable not wearing serious bling to work every day. I want a band that looks amazing all by itself.

Ok.. i have the perfect solution to your problem....Re: what would you do with this engagement ring?

take the ring, put in in an envelope and send it to Mrs. Amarillis Ontario Canada
LOL....

Ok, in all seriousness:

I think that you are on the right track in bringing it to a jeweller and getting his/hers advice.

I can't wait to hear your decision.

I would do a micro pave diamond band....so dainty and small but would be so nice against that truely AMAZING ring.

Do you think I should get one custom made to fit around this large setting, or should I just do the whole switch my engagment ring to my right hand and wear a simple wedding band on the left?

My fear is that I'll spend a lot of money on a custom band, and will end up not even liking it...or there just wont be enough room on my finger or the band will take away from the dynamic setting. But of course, deep down I still want the traditional band and ring on the left hand!

has anyone gone through this?? pics below!
