Mommies to be check in

I didn't get mine frown.gif I already registered with them and signed up for their rewards program, so I should have received one, right? Are there any coupons for furniture or bedding?

So, I have a minor dilemma (it may not even be a dilemma to most but it is for me) and I'm getting irritated over it. My mom is having a baby shower for our side of the family/friends on June 13th. That date did not work for a lot of us (including my mom) but my in laws are leaving to Mexico the following weekend for over a month so we didn't want them to miss the baby shower (BTW-what kind of grandparents leave out of the country and come back a few days before their 1st grandchild is due?!). My 3 closest friends (that I have known since 1st grade) can't make it that day, including a lot of other people, so before reconfirming that date I (without making it obvious so I wouldn't sound rude) asked my SIL if she knows if her mom was planning on doing a baby shower for their side of the family because if they did I wouldn't feel so bad moving the date of my mom's baby shower to sometime after they left to Mexico so at least they wouldn't be missing out on a baby shower if they were hosting one for me, KWIM? She said they weren't planning one so of coarse in that case, I kept the date of June 13th so they can be there.

So, forward to yesterday- My invitations for my mom's shower have been sent and done. My SIL shows up yesterday and mentions to me that her and her mom have been planning a baby shower for the past few months (so she obviously didn't tell me when I had previously asked her even knowing my concerns about my friends). But, here's the kicker. She won't tell me the date because she wants it to be a surprise. WTF? How am I not going to know the date of my own shower?! Not to mention that most of my weekends are already full and they will be leaving to Mexico in a little over a month. So, that only leaves these next few weekends. And top all this off, she invited some of the same friends (my DH's friend's wifes) that I already invited to my mom's shower and now they are going to receive double the invitations. I'm not super anal on the whole etiquitte thing, but I think it's a bit rude inviting someone to two different showers (especially because I'm not close to these girls- I would hate to look "rude" by doing this). If I would have known she was planning on inviting them, I wouldn't have invited them to my mom's. Besides they live so much closer to my MIL's house (where the shower will be) than my mom's (which is an hour away), there's no way they would even go to my mom's now.

I'm just kind of annoyed because she knew I really wanted to change the date of my mom's shower but I kept the date for her and her parents. I know I sound like I'm not appreciative of what they are doing for me, I am. It's just that her and her family are soooo like this and it drives me crazy. It's more like they are doing this to please themselves, not me. Maybe it's just my crazy hormone levels right now, I don't know, but all this is starting to stress me out and that's the last thing I need to be doing right now. My DH and I are in escrow and it's very shakey right now, so adding all this to the mix just has me worried and stressed 24-7.

Thanks for listening!

I would be super mad. Knowing that your Mom was planning the shower they should have cross checked with her for the list of people she was inviting. AND on top of that she should have said something about throwing it when you asked. I wish there was some way you could change the date of your Moms so all your friends could go. I hate it when things that are supposed to be about us end up about everyone else instead. Wish their was some great advice I could give you but there isn't. Just let it go I guess because it is out of your hands.

Alright... for those of you who did not receive the Babies R Us coupons, they are online... they are just sometimes tricky to find!

Babies"R"Us

And if that doesn't work, go to the website. Click on store locators. On the left hand side it'll say Toys R Us sales or something like that. Click that. Then when the Toys R Us sales pop up on the right hand side it'll say "Shop Babies R US Special Offers" Click that. Then you can print the coupons.

Happy shopping!

So I have a very busy weekend ahead of me. My shower is tomorrow (Finally!) after which my cousin who'se coming from NY volunteered to come over and help me put stuff away. That means that hubby and I need to make sure we at least vaccum and put dishes away (with 2 furbabies, we should vaccum every day but naturally, we don't!). Since we have the version scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 am, I also need to pack my bag today, just in case. Fingers crossed, everything goes well with the procedure and we make it home safe and sound, I have the maternity shoot at 3pm. I think I'll be ready for a week off by the end of this weekend. smile41.gif Wish me luck! :)

Didn't mean to make you worry! :) Just totally forgot about posting an update until I got the e-mail with your post. Major baby brains! :)
Let me start from the beginning. The shower was great! It was so much fun and opening presents was a workout. We pretty much got everything we'll need for the beginning which is great! Here are a few pics:

Sunday morning started great and very very early! I was up at 5:30am!!! We had it scheduled for 7:30 am and got to the hospital around 7:10. They put me into a delivery room (sneak peak of the real thing I guess) and hooked me up to the monitors. Since there is a risk of putting baby into distress with this procedure, they got me ready for an emergency c-section just in case. IV line in, urine sample and blood work. My doctor came in with an ultrasound machine to check that the baby is actually still breech and his overall position. Sure enough, there was his little head, right under my right ribs, same place Iâ€ve been feeling it for about 7 weeks. They gave me a shot of terbutaline to relax the uterus and then the neonatologist came to take all of his measurements. He needed to get an idea of the babyâ€s weight as well as the amount of amniotic fluid around him. All was good and they began the procedure. My doctor was the one to actually perform it and he friend tried to get him to go counterclockwise since that seemed to be the shortest distance to travel and he just wouldnâ€t budge. Although that hurt a little it wasnâ€t an unbearable pain and he didnâ€t try for long (30 secs to a minute maybe). He then tried to get him to go clockwise and within seconds, he was head down! I was concentrating on breathing and not tensing up my stomach muscles and was actually shocked by how fast it went. They did warn me though that if it works, it goes very quickly! They did another ultrasound to check his position and heartbeat and put him right back on the monitor. His heart rate didnâ€t drop at all! Doctor held his head for a little bit and then handed the job over to my hubby! He said to hold on to it for a little bit until the terbutaline wears off. I think hubby was more stressed out by the whole thing than me and the baby! He was almost crying and kept kissing me and telling me what a trooper I am! J He said that from the side, it looked like my stomach was made of dough and they were melding it into shape. LOL They kept us on the monitor for about another 2 hours and also gave me another shot of RhoGam since I am Rh- since the procedure can cause some internal bleeding and they didnâ€t want to take any chances. Baby G tolerated the procedure very well; his heart rate stayed up the entire time and he started wiggling around again after about 30 or 40 minutes. At one point, he stuck his little feet (or knees) out of my right side and we couldnâ€t feel the head on the bottom so I thought he flipped right back. A doctor came in with an ultrasound machine right away to check and thankfully, he was still head down! They checked to make sure my cervix was closed and by 10am, we were out of there!

Finally, the most pleasant part of my mother's day was of course the photo shoot! The photographer came at 2pm as scheduled and was sooo great! I showed her some of the poses/ideas I found and she really did her best to get each and every one of them considering we weren't workign in a studio. I saw a sneak peek of the shots on the screen of her camera and they're amazing!!!! I'm soooo glad I decided to do the shoot. It would up being a little bit risque but still very tasteful and I really really can't wait for the pictures! I should have them either by the end of this week or next week. I promise to share as soon as I get them.

How's everyone else doinghuh.gif?? Any updates?

Bisha- I was wondering about you as well. I'm glad to hear everything went well. The procedure sounds painful (even though I know you said it wasn't), so I'm glad you didn't have any sort of major discomfort. Good luck and I hope the baby remains in that position! Thanks for sharing the shower pics! You look so pretty pregnant!! And you need to post some pics from the shoot as soon as you get them!

Trisha- You must be so excited about your shower!! This is when you find out the gender, right?

No updates on the baby on my side, everything has been going just fine. I have a 28 week appt on Tuesday, so we'll see how that goes. I had a maternity massage yesterday and it felt soooo good. I wish I can have one everyday!

How is everyone else been doing?

Thank you Mrs. Martin! :) I really hope he stays head down, I'll find out tomorrow if he still is at my Dr's appt. If he's not, at least I know when he'll be arriving, May 22 which, as my manager pointed out today, is next Friday! How crazy is that!huh.gif? The second half of my pregnancy just flew by!

That's right, I totally forgot that Trish gets to find out the sex at her shower!!!! You better tell us when you know! :) Have fun! and enjoy the being the center of attention. Everyone keeps telling me it won't last! :)

Bisha glad to hear everything went well for you!

Mrs Martin How did your appointment go on Tuesday?

We had our 36 week ultrasound today, found out that it is for sure a girl. At our 20 week she had her legs crossed so she could only guess a girl, but we could see very clearly ourselves today that it is definitely a girl..And not a very little girl! My doctor has been telling me he is expecting around a six maybe seven pound baby....She's already almost 7 pounds according to the measurements taken today at the ultrasound! So the tech told me she was recommending my doctor check me to see if he thinks I can even have a baby that big because she will be around 9 pounds by the time I'm due! I'm a pretty small person, so the thought of a 9 pound baby really terrifies me! And so I'm preparing for my doctor to tell me that I can't have the baby at home here, I'll have to go to the city I'm sure, and even keeping an open mind I might have to have a c-section!

We also found out she's likely got a decent head of hair already, you could see it in the 2D (not even the fancy 3d one), so all this heartburn at least has a purpose! :)
