UUGH Robbins Brothers Files for Bankruptcy

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread or not but...

I found out today that Robbins Brothers just filed for bankruptcy!!

Now whenever I want to get my ring repaired I have to bring it to Dallas (I live 1 hr south of Houston) or SEND IT IN THE MAIL!

Luckily they are still honoring the 1 year of insurance and a local jeweler will still do my cleaning and inspection free of charge. I just wanted to let other brides know in case they need to figure out what to do with their ring.

That's too bad. I can't believe that. They semed like such a strong company.

I got that same email. Its just odd to me that they are getting rid of the store here in Houston, but keep alot of the other stores. My FI didnt get my center stone from them so I don't have to worry to much, but when I saw this I was thought to myself damn that really sucks.

I didn't understand the closing of Houston stores either. I would think they would keep one in Houston at least...<sigh> oh well I guess...

Still don't understand why FI didn't buy the ring from his uncle who IS A JEWELER!

I guess thats another story for another thread....
