Grand Riviera Princess HELP

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am suppose to get married Dec 10, 2009 but due to the swine flu, I'm in the 'wait and see' mode since I did not make a deposit with the wedding coordinator, Diana, yet. However, I've been dealing with Diana at Grand Princess and I agree that it is frustrating dealing with her through email and when you call her, she's not available. We've been corresponding through emails for 2 weeks regarding placing a deposit down but now I'm glad this was delayed so I can back out until further notice.

Anyways, the whole point about my post is that it may be frustrating with the emails now but I keep hearing that the actual wedding day is mind-blowing, breath-taking so in the end, that's all that matters!

However, I'm really not comfortable providing the photocopy of my ID and credit card to them but what choice do we have! I've created an authorization letter (before she provided me a template) and Diana rejected it using the excuse that the bank won't accept this. Does this make sense? I just want some security! You can try to use it if you can too!

To whom it may concern:

I, , hereby authorize EXPLOTACIONES DEL CARIBE S.A. DE C.V. to charge $200.00US from my credit card as a deposit to reserve for our “Grand Princess†Civil wedding ceremony.

By accepting the deposit, I, , and Grand Princess Riviera are in agreement of the charges for the following services:

“Grand Princess†Civil wedding package $ 2,000.00

Blood test per couple $ 160.00

Legal procedure $ 100.00

Private courier $ 50.00

Should any of the above change or if there are additional charges, I will be notified prior to accepting this deposit.

Cheers and all the best on your wedding planning!

Hi there,

I did read somewhere that you can send a wire transfer as well. Not sure if that's still an option....

Hi i was nervous about giving out my information too but relaized it was that or do a wire transfer. I ended up filling out the information and gave my credit card they charged it and have had no problems at all. Our wedding date is on Nov 9, 2009 if this whole swine flu thing dies down!! But if you are still skeptical about sending your information you can just wire it hope that helps

The wire option cost about $35 but since this a lot have provided their credit card with no problem, I guess I'll go this route. Did you have to provide ID (back and front) as well? Also, did you receive written confirmation of the wedding day, or a receipt? Thanks.

We are getting married on the same day! What time is yours? We're also planning on getting married at the Grand Riviera Princess! Our TA has been the one dealing with the resort, and we have NOOO clue about any of the details, or even our options for that matter! Have you guys figured out any of the details yet? We are getting legally married here in Canada before we go, so we'll actually just have the renewal of vows ceremony. Neat that we're on the same day at the same resort!

Hi yes i did have to send my drivers license front and back and once they took the 200 US deposit i was sent email confirmation of my date. Then they ask you to choose a package and ceremony for your wedding then send you the written contract/agreement with price date etc. As for a recepit i have it on my visa and also an email from the resort confirming the deposit. Hope this helps what date are u planning on getting married?

Congratulations on your wedding. Awesome. this is cool....I'm actually thinking about legally getting married here first too and then do the 'symbolic wedding' there. Why did you decide to go this route? My dilemma is that I wanted all that wedding stuff to happen the same day so there is only one wedding day, but then, I don't like all the steps you need to take (blood tests, etc.) to get legally married there, and also, take that chance that it may not be 'legal' afterall....I don't know yet ...

This is good, we can share information to each other to ensure the wedding coordinator is giving us the same prices! I caught her giving me 2 different prices for 'legal procedures' ($100 and $250) so that's why I tried to lay out the prices on the authorization letter to make it a confirmation but that didn't work.

Stay touch Summer&Nicholas, we can help each other out during our wedding planning. It's nice to meet someone getting married on the same day at the same resort too!

Cheers.

Thanks for the information. We are getting married Dec 10, 2009. I guess I'll provide my credit info since it was safe for many! Thanks for giving me that security that we can trust them!

We chose to take this route for a couple of reasons, one was cost. We are just going to do the Renewal of Vows ceremony. I am told that it is just the same as the wedding ceremony and you even get the wedding certificate. We have chosen not to tell our guests that we were married before already, especially because we are doing it on this Friday May the 8th. Our TA recommended this as some guests may not see the significance of it anymore if it's not the "real deal" even though to us, Mexico is our wedding.
Another reason was the hassle of having to get all the proper documentation, and then having it translated...And one more reason it was just important to us that our Pastor perform the marriage. I also do not have a passport yet, so we figured it'd be easier to have the legal part done so I can just do the passport thing one time without having to change my name right after...

Good luck with your planning, I look forward to being able to help each other out!

I just wanted everyone to know that my travel agent was just at this resort and she looked into my file for me ... This is the process you send them your credit card authorization and all the things they ask you to make sure they are filled out proper and typed where it says type then the wedding cordinator passes the credit card auth to the accounting department and this could take awhile because they move really slow.
