You girls crack me up, I love this forum! Why is it that even though we know in the back of our minds we shouldnt care, we still do? It annoys me and I have had a lot of people say "not many people will come"....but I actually like it that way! I never wanted a huge wedding anyway and that is one of the reasons I chose a DW!

Even though I shouldnt, I still try to make it easy on everyone, especially my BM's & family. I really am thankful for everyone who can come, and for those who can't I am not offended. I keep telling myself to just pick a BM dress and be done with it, but I always end up getting all their opinions and trying to make them all happy!

I think Kelly is right, Lisa I bet your sister will have a great time when it is said and done.....and you will have the most amazing pictures!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE DW PICS!!!!!!!!

I didn't know either Katie! I was like what in the heck is BD! I am getting nervous/excited. I only have 10 days until I take mine. I think that it is a really great ideas to get for the future hubby's. I am going to have one of my girlfriends bring Tyler the BD book when he is getting ready in his room right before the wedding

I think it's a great idea. Desiree, what is the average cost? Jason is SUPER shy, so I'm not sure if he will like it or be freaked out about it!! Maybe I can do makeshift BD pics & have my MOH take them!!

I havent even really researched this topic. Can you give some details, do you write him a letter in the book or is it just pictures! You have to post some after your shoot!

I like the idea of having it delivered to him right before the wedding! And you definitely have to post some after they're done, because we're all exicited to see them...I'm sure they will look great!

Kelly- you're making me laugh with the thought of his 9-year-old son finding the book, lol!

Josie-Believe me even if he is super shy-he will love it! I think my shoot is going to cost around $350, but I have a photographer friend who is doing them for that price b/c I am going to be her "model" to show at her photography studio to future brides that are thinking about doing it-she isn't showing it to any men, haha. I think that is a good idea to have a friend do them for you. I know girls on here spend from $0-$800 for a BD shoot. Some girls on here put the book in a really pretty box and they have a letter with it. I have also seen some books with text on the front page, followed by pictures. I think my book will just be pictures. I will find out at my shoot.

Kelly-That would be crazy if his son saw it, haha! In your case I would definitely do it-it would be such a shocker for him. Maybe you can find a case or something that you can put a tiny lock on it-sorta like a diary lock or a luggage lock (I can't think of anything else to compare it to). You don't have to take any risque pics if you don't want. I have seen some really cute pics of girls in their FI favorite football team's jersey, bride tank and panties, wrapped in a sheet, etc.

Katie-Thanks-I hope they turn out great. I will post them for a few days even if I don't like them, so y'all can see.

Kelly-that is a great idea! I think the lock makes it naughtier too! I might just get one myself even though Tyler doesn't have any kiddos. This website has awesome costumes. 3WISHES.COM - Buy Sexy Lingerie, Sexy Costumes, Playboy Costumes, Sexy Halloween Costumes, 3 Wishes Lingerie

Yeah, my photographer is doing the exact same thing like you mentioned above minus the makeup artist. She is doing the retouching and stuff too. I hope she gets rid of my cellulite!

Hello everyone! I am soooooo sorry for not posting sooner.

There has been soo much going on with my family--I've thrown 2 baby shwrs in the past 2 wks and I am now in Georgia for a 1st Communion. Moreover, I am on the job hunt and interviewing has been exhausting.

I took several pics --pics of an actual wedding that took place at the Gazebo area at RPRM, pics of an actual setup for a wedding reception at Chili's, and pics of the Bogofoto Restaurant. When I get back home on Tues I will post them for you as well as more info. Here is some info for now:

Swine Flu

There were no outbreaks while we were there. To date, my FI and I feel fine and we hope it stays that way. Amazingly, St. Francis Prep--the high School that has had the biggest cluster of breakouts in NYC is about 4 miles from where I live in Queens, NY. Again, we are fine and there was no word about a flu going around in Riviera Maya

Our Stay at RPRM

FI and I had a great time!! The food was great! The pool(swim up bar just great too), rooms, and hotel lobby, courtyard look exactly like the Riu in Punta Cana--palatial and luxurious. Liquor was great--top shelf available and if you want it specifically ask for it. The service was also good--no majors issues. The gazebo area for the wedding was beautiful. Botofogoâ€s looks great, I took pics of both and will post on Tues.

Meeting w/ Juan Carlos Magellon - photographer

I met w/ one of the photographers that are permitted to take pics at the Riu. Juan Carlos has an office in the Riu Playacar area which is about a 5 min walk from the RPRM. I saw pics that he has taken and they are wonderful. He also gave me a copy of the 2010 rates charged for the different packages offered at the Riu. The prices were the same as the ones the Josie forwarded to me. Personally, I feel that the best package offered is a bit overpriced ($2500US). Some might beg to differ, but I am having a destination wedding primarily to cut down on costs. At any rate, for those that are thinking of flying their own photographers down to RPRM, it might be more economical to just go w/ Juan, especially since his work looks great. I inquired about boudoir photos - he does them and charges a $300 sitting fee—some might be opposed to a male photographers taking sexy pics.

Meeting w/ the WC

We met w/ Ael Enciso at the Riu Palace Mexico. That is where her office is located. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions.

Photographer

I specifically asked about the outside photographer policy. She told me that it is Riu's policy to not allow outside vendors at the hotel, however, they have been and can be flexible in that regard. I reiterated to her that "ok, so you are saying that the general policy is to not allow outside photographers, however Riu can be flexible." I then stated that I want to confirm, “if my one of my guests (a hotel guest or a guest pass holder) comes to my wedding, then he or she can take photos correct? She again stated that, “the hotel can be flexible on the vendor policy.†To me this sufficed. There is no way that the hotel can block one of my guests at my wedding from taking pics. To be safe ladies, I would just email the WC directly to get that policy in writing.

BTW--The FI and I happened to see a wedding ceremony at the RPRM gazebo. It was an Asian family and Juan Carlos was taking the photos. I also saw one of the wedding guests taking pics with a very hi-tech camera. This wedding guest was also on the beach taking pics of the wedding party. I assume that the bride and groom also flew in a photographer—he wasnâ€t prohibited and neither should anyone else.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya vs Riu Palace Mexico

Hands down, RPRM is better that the RPRM. My opinion is based on the decor of the rooms and the grounds itself. As stated, our meeting w/ the WC was at the RPMexico. The hotel lobby was palatial looking, but RPRM is larger, more modern and breathtaking. The chapel is also located at RPMex—chapel is nice, but very small—only about 15 persons can comfortably fit. The FI and I snuck upstairs to see the living quarters while they were being cleaned by room service. The junior suites at RPRM are much much larger and modern. We also visited the pool and the beach at the RP Mex—the pool at RPRM is nicer and so is the beach.

Will post more info on Tues when I get back, sorry guys, please be patient.
